Hey Everyone!  I decided to come back and join the Weekly Wrap link up!  I haven’t been linking each week because since surgery I haven’t been able to run or workout.  But, this week I was somewhat active.   I walked almost every day and got in a few short workouts as well, so here I am!  more “A Week of Activities”

The Boot is Gone!

Hey Guys!  This recap is a few days late, and I know I owe you a couple week’s worth, but I’ve been busy!  So we’re going to go all the way back to last Tuesday to start this off.  (Because I honestly can’t remember what I did last Monday, and I have no pictures!)  Last week was a total blur!  With Halloween being in the middle of the week, it kind of threw me off.  It made Tuesday feel like Friday.  Then I woke up disappointed on Wednesday since it wasn’t Saturday!  more “The Boot is Gone!”

My Life This Week

Hey guys!  How has your week been?  I hope you are all getting some nice spring weather.  We’ve had great temperatures all week which has made it nice to be outside!  This week was pretty low-key.   I didn’t do anything exciting.  But, it was nice to have some quiet and be able to be at home and get some things done!   more “My Life This Week”

Last Minute Shopping!

I spent all day Monday doing some last minute shopping.  I always think I’m done, but then I remember “just one more” thing.  I do this a lot and I don’t know why because I make tons of lists!!

Monday was supposed to be a rest day from running, but since I missed this weekend’s long run, I decided to make it up.  When I got up, I ran 5 miles.  It was a really pretty morning, and there were a million squirrels playing in the road.

I was doing really good until about half way in and my stomach started hurting again.  It made me start to think that maybe I was really sick after all.   I felt pretty nauseas, but I kept going.  I walked / jogged the last half of my run, but I powered through and got it done!

After I was done, I went home and laid in the floor until my stomach settled.  I felt fine after that!  Then I got up to do some work on the computer, and this is what I found.

It really kind of creeped me out, I started thinking I had been hacked.  The screen stayed like that for several minutes before it finally let me on my desktop. 

When I finally got around, I met Jeremy in town to run some last minute errands.  This turned into an all-day event.  We went shopping for his dad.  He was the only person that we hadn’t bought for yet.  While we were out shopping, we decided to try the new food truck that we have in town.

They were really busy, so I took that as a good sign.  The food was phenomenal!  I had the beef street tacos.  They came with seasoned beef, onion, cilantro, shredded cheese, and an avocado Verde sauce.  They were so good!  I am really excited about this place now!  I’m going to try the chicken street tacos next time.

After shopping for a while and striking out everywhere we went, we decided that we would go see a friend of mine and have her print some t-shirts and jackets for Jeremy’s dad with their business logo on it.  I think he will love it! 

Then I had to go exchange some jeans at Rue 21 and Maurices.  I don’t know what the deal was, I tried them on in the store, but once I got them home and put them on, they were way too big.  After that I ran to Wal-Mart to get everything that we will need for Christmas Eve dinner.  I had a snack too!

Then I came home and sat with Jake.  He went and got a bath yesterday, and we noticed when we picked him up that he was limping a little.

I don’t know if she trimmed his nails to short, or if jumping out of the truck hurt his legs, but I was worried.  When we picked him up, he wouldn’t even jump up in the truck.  Jeremy had to put him in there and get him out.  I don’t know what it was, but when we brought him home, he slept all day and night.  He didn’t want to get up, and he barely ate anything.  I was really worried.  But, he is doing much better today!

I felt like I was on the go all day Monday!  I finally sat down late Monday night, and we watched Elf again!  I love that movie!  I think I fell asleep before 10.

I woke up around 8 this morning.  I was surprised because Jake hadn’t woken me up yet.  I got up and let him out, and then got dressed to run.  The road was empty and it was awesome to run on!

After running, I iced my leg.  It started bothering me a little during my run.  But, after icing it, it didn’t hurt at all.  I had to go run a few more errands.  My mom had texted me Monday night about what I needed to bring to Christmas, so that meant another trip to Wal-Mart! 

I actually went over to my mom’s first to return her ugly Christmas sweater that I borrowed.

I visited with her and my dad for a little while and then I headed to Wal-Mart.  I was in and out of there in 15 minutes!  The check outs weren’t busy at all, it was just all of the people with their baskets parked in the middle of the aisles that slowed me down! 

On my way home, my grandma called and wanted me to meet her at a store in town.  So, I turned around and headed back up there.  I spent an hour shopping with her.  She wanted to buy me something else for Christmas, and I kept trying to tell her that she didn’t need to.  But she kept insisting, so I picked out a pair of house shoes and some measuring spoons.  (A couple of mine had an unfortunate meeting with my disposal!)  This store has a senior citizen discount on Tuesdays.  They get 20% off, so I used her discount and bought Jeremy some cologne that he has been wanting.   I’ll stuff it in his stocking later!  (Hopefully he won’t read this before Thursday night!)

Then, I went to get my hair trimmed and I finally broke down and got some bangs cut.  I have been thinking about this since before Halloween and I just couldn’t make up my mind.  My best friend kept reminding me how much I have hated them before.  But my hair has been the exact same for years and I was kind of tired of it.  So, I decided to change it up a bit with some side bangs.  They are kind of long, but if I like them, I may go have them cut shorter.

After that, I came home and took Jake for a walk.  The weather had warmed up and it was 70 degrees!

We walked for a long time while Jeremy vacuumed and cleaned out our vehicles.

I also started a new book today.  It is called See How They Run.  It’s the second book in the Embassy Row series by Ally Carter.  I read the first book, All Fall Down last year and had to wait a whole year for this new one to come out.  I hate that!!  But it was really good, so I bought the new one today. 

The series is about a girl name Grace who has moved to an Embassy Row in another country to live with her Ambassador grandfather.  Her mother was killed and Grace starts remembering details about her death, but no one believes her.  They all think she is crazy.  So she works to find out what happened.  It’s a good really good story line with a lot of suspense and mystery.

I am planning on cleaning, baking, and running tomorrow.  I am supposed to run 9 miles this weekend, but we will not be home and there is no way I will be able to get that in.  So, I am thinking about running it tomorrow.  We’ll just see how my day goes.  If I don’t get it in, I will have to do it next Monday or Tuesday.  Or, this may have to be a week that I redo after Christmas!  I’m just going to have to play it by ear!  

Jeremy and I are going on a date tonight!  We’re going to dinner and then to look at Christmas lights!  I’ll take lots of pictures and post them tomorrow!

The Week is Finally Over – Weekly Recap

Hi Everyone!  It’s been a really busy week.  But, I guess it always is right before Christmas!  This week did go by fast, but it was a very stressful week.  This was basketball tournament week around our area.  So, that meant that Jeremy had games every day and night this week.  Some days he did 6 games a day.  It’s just hard when he is gone when I get home from work, and then I am asleep when he gets home at night.  I feel like I saw him for about 30 minutes total this week.  So, here is what my week looked like. 

I did a picture post about my Monday.  (You can see it here.)  It was a rest day from running.  So, I took a rest day from running and everything else!  I took Jake for a long walk, and then we hung out being lazy.

I was really hungry after our walk, so I made an omelet egg scramble with bacon and cheese, with a side of toast and hash browns.  Then, I relaxed and got caught up on Married at First Sight:  The First Year.  I love reality TV! 

Tuesday morning I fixed some oatmeal for breakfast.  I was out of the instant packets I have been eating, so I made regular oatmeal with some brown sugar and dried cranberries.  For lunch I had another Smart Ones Chicken Parmesan.  That is probably my favorite right now.  Tuesday afternoon I was getting ready to take Jake for a walk and when we went outside, the most random thing was in our yard!!

A potbelly pig!  I have begged Jeremy for a long time to get me one of these, but after seeing it, I think I have changed my mind.  It was cute, and really friendly.  But, it was weird.  Jake loved it!

It came right up to him and was wagging it’s tail.  It walked all over our yard, and Jake just followed it.  I put Jake in the backyard, and the pig went to the fence trying to get in with him.  I got some corn and led it back down to the house that I think it lives at, and once it ate the corn, it came running back to our house.

He got mad because when we got to the other side of the pasture, he could see all the puppies down the road, but they wouldn’t come to see him.

After I walked Jake, I went for a run.  I ran 3 miles.  Then I went home and ate a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, with a side of hash browns.  I am really liking hash browns lately.

Wednesday morning I fixed some oatmeal with a stevia packet and some mini chocolate chips in it.  And for lunch I finally tried the Fit and Active lasagna meal from Aldi.  It was not good!  It tasted as bad as it looks!  So not worth 97 cents.  I will not be eating this again.

Wednesday afternoon I ran a bunch of errands.  We had a new store open up in our town that sells name brand products that have been damaged or are dirty and can’t be sold in stores.  Jeremy wanted me to go by there because he heard they had a bunch of hunting stuff.   I went it, and it really stressed me out.  There were folding tables set up all over the building, and the tables had boxes on them overflowing with stuff.  None of it was organized or sorted.  It was kind of overwhelming.  I walked around for about 10 minutes and left.  I was on a mission to try and find Jeremy a new shirt to wear to his family Christmas next Saturday.  I went to the two stores in town that sell men’s clothing, but neither had anything he would wear.  One of them sells clothes for older men, and then we have a Rue 21, and he won’t wear anything in there.  I did not find him any shirts. 

When I got home Wednesday afternoon, I ran 3 miles.  Then I took Jake for a walk.

This time a couple of the puppies came through the fence and played with him.  He loved it!  We really need to get him a friend.

I was planning on cooking dinner Wednesday night, but Jeremy had done 6 games that day and he ate at the gym.  Since he wasn’t hungry, I fixed me a grilled cheese and turkey sandwich.  Then I curled up in bed to play on Pinterest, but I fell asleep!

Thursday morning when I woke up, I literally rolled out of the bed.  My body felt like I had been run over.  It hurt so bad everywhere.  My back was hurting, and the pain was going down through my hips and into my legs.  I hurt my back a couple of years ago, and every now and then it bothers me.  It usually doesn’t last long, and it isn’t very bad.  On top of that, my foot was hurting as well.  I took some ibuprofen and did some stretches that usually help my back.  I happened to look out the window while I was getting ready, and the sunrise was beautiful.  I immediately went outside to take a picture.  The pinks and purples were absolutely gorgeous!

I was hoping that by later in the day, my body would quit hurting and I could run.  Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.  I hurt bad all day, so I decided that instead of running and risking getting hurt, I would take a rest day and hopefully it would make me feel better.

Since I wasn’t running, I went with Jeremy’s dad to Jeremy’s basketball games.  It was a tournament, and his games didn’t start until 7:30.

I didn’t have time to eat before we left, and I knew I wouldn’t eat when we got home because it would be so late.  I don’t like concession stand junk, so I had a couple of chocolate chip cookies instead.  😉  (I’m sure that’s not much better.)  They were baking them fresh in the lobby, and they smelled heavenly!  My father-in-law went to get us some, and he came back with 8 cookies!  There were delicious, but I stopped at 2.  We got home close to 11, and I went straight to bed.  I was tired, but couldn’t wind down, so I watched the new episode of Big Bang Theory and then I went to sleep. 

I must have slept hard last night because when I woke up today I felt refreshed.  I wasn’t tired at all, and my body didn’t hurt!  I fixed some oatmeal with dried cranberries for breakfast.

Then for lunch I had the alfredo meal from Aldi.  It was pretty good.  I also had a small piece of strawberry cake at work.

While I was eating lunch, my friend texted me and asked if I wanted to go shopping with her tomorrow.  Of course I said yes!  She is the one we had the baby shower for last weekend.  She needs to go pick up some more baby stuff and get some Christmas shopping done.  While I was talking to her, I realized that I forgot her birthday.  It was Tuesday!!  I am the worst!  I feel awful!  So, we will celebrate with a girl’s day tomorrow!

I spent all afternoon making lists of stuff I need to do, and groceries I need to buy before next week.  I was starting to feel a little stress, but I felt better after I made my to do lists.  I will get a bunch of it taken care of tomorrow when my friend and I go shopping. 

I had a good run today.  I finished just before dark.

I ate every bit of it!  And now I’m just talking to you nice people and trying to find something on TV to watch.  I think I need to get Netflix! 

I have a busy weekend planned with shopping and hanging out.  And, I am looking forward to sleeping in on Sunday!

Marathon Training has Begun!

Yesterday was Day 1 of marathon training!   Don’t get too excited yet, it was just 3 miles.  But, I wore my new shoes and rocked it!

My shoes and insoles were heaven!  It was like running on air.  They were so comfortable and supportive, and I did not have any pain when I was running, or afterwards either.

The weather was perfect.  It was sunny and 55 degrees.  It was a beautiful fall day.

I have 3 miles to do today and 3 miles tomorrow.  Then, on Saturday I have 6 miles.  We’ll see how my leg and foot hold up for that.  I have not been able to run that amount of miles since July.  It will be a challenge, but I am ready for it! 

Yesterday I woke up refreshed!  I was so tired all day on Monday, but I slept really well Monday night.  We rented the movie Vacation, but I couldn’t even keep my eyes open.  I was disappointed because I fell asleep half way through it.  What I saw of it was really good and funny! 

I had blueberry yogurt for breakfast, and then a granola bar for a mid morning snack.  I didn’t have any lunch prepared, so instead of eating out I just ate a Bear Naked Energy Bar.  Then I had some turkey snack sticks for an afternoon snack. 

After my run, I took Jake for a walk.  He walked the neighbor’s fence, and the horse wanted to play with him.  It kept following him up and down the fence, and Jake wouldn’t pay much attention to it.

Every time the horse would get close, Jake would take off running from it.  I think he was playing his own game!

We walked for about 30 minutes and then I got cold because the sun was going down.  We came home and got all of our Christmas stuff out of the building, so I can put it all up today! 

Then, I completed day 1 of Monica at RunEatRepeat’s new December challenge.  I am really excited that she posted a new challenge for the month.  I really enjoyed the Pile on the Miles Challenge, and I think that this time of year everyone can use a little extra exercise!  Plus, it helps me stay motivated when I know exactly what I have to do because I stress out if I don’t complete it.  I already saved it on my phone, and will be doing this all month! 

After I finished that, I massaged my leg.  I have a love / hate relationship with that stick!  It is not pleasant!  It just hurts!  But, it helps alot, so I do it.

For dinner, I made some eggs and toast.  (My favorite dinner)  I used one whole egg and three egg whites and Sara Lee 45 calorie bread with low sugar grape jelly.  I also covered my eggs in Cholulua.  I really like that stuff!  And I eat on a styrofoam plate because I’m fancy!  Just kidding, it’s just easier and quicker to clean up.

After dinner I worked on our Christmas card and a calendar for my grandma.  I get her one every year with family pictures on it, and she loves it!  I went over my list of Christmas gifts last night, and I think I am close to being done shopping.  That is a first for me.  Usually I am rushing around the week before Christmas trying to find gifts.  But, so far this year I have ordered everything online, and it has been so easy!  I can’t wait for Christmas!
