Hi Guys! I have one more post about Vegas! This is all about our final night! Friday we spent all day walking around looking at everything! There was a lot more people out on Friday, which made it more difficult to get down the street. But, Friday night was the best part of the whole trip. Jeremy got me tickets to Britney Spears!! I seriously can’t even put into words how excited I was! I have loved her since she came out, and have always wanted to see her. more “One More Time”

This is my final post over our Jamaica trip. But, we extended our vacation and went to Los Angeles. I will post about that trip in my next posts.
But first, I want to share our excursion experience in Ocho Rios with you.
If you are ever in Jamaica, I would highly recommend that you go to Dunn’s River Falls. That place is incredible! We went there a few years ago, and we thought about going back. But, we decided that we wanted to do something we had never done. Hubby has always wanted to go ziplining. I have no idea why, because he is scared of heights. I on the other hand, am TERRIFIED of heights. But, this is what we decided to do.
So, on Friday of our trip, we went to the Mystic Mountain.
When we got there it was beautiful! It was in the middle of the jungle.
I was already nervous about the zip lining, but when we got there we found out that we had to ride a chair lift 700 feet up a mountain. We got on it, and I started to panic a little! We were so high up, we were in the tops of the trees. The view of the ocean was gorgeous, but the ride was terrifying! The chair went pretty slow, and when it would reach each tower, it would start shaking. And, it started to rain on us. We were up so high, you couldn’t even see the ground! I do not ever want to do that again! (But I had to in order to get back down) The ride up the mountain took about 20 minutes. When we reached the top, I wanted to kiss the ground!
We got off and we to ride the bobsled. It was like a roller coaster, but you could control how fast or slow you went. The girl that strapped us in told us, “The faster you go, the safer you’ll be.” We rode with our cars hooked together because I’m a chicken. We went pretty fast, and it was really fun! It was a quick, and then we had to ride back up to where we started. This was just like a roller coaster going up a hill, but it went faster.
After the bobsled, we visited the hummingbird garden. Then we went and got strapped into our harnesses so we could do the zip lines.
We met our guides, and they were hilarious! They were really nice to me since they knew I was scared. They joked around with us, and kept calling me queenie. Hubby went first on the first line. I was impressed! I went next, and it was AWESOME! I loved every second of it! We went on four lines, and then we got to a platform where you had to drop straight down. The guides made me go first. I kept telling them I didn’t want to, but they said if I didn’t, I wouldn’t want to go at all. So, I went and they lowered me really slowly to the bottom. After I went, one of the ladies with us said she wanted to go because it didn’t look so bad. She got up there and they just dropped her to the bottom. I was so glad they didn’t do that with me. Then we got to walk across a really long rope bridge to the last line.
Once we went across that line we were half way down the mountain. They took our harnesses and we had to get on the chair lift to go the rest of the way down.
I had a blast, and I would love to do this again! I was really proud of us for facing our fears, and I loved that we did it together.
Have you ever faced a fear?
We did so much on our vacation, that I had to break it up into multiple posts. After hanging out at the beach and pool all day, we would head back to the room to get ready for the night.
We would go to dinner and then the nightly show. After the shows we would usually go back to the room and go to bed. The first night we ate at the southern food restaurant. This was my favorite for the whole week! We both ordered steak, and it was delicious. I also ordered the peach cobbler for dessert, which was scrumptious.
The next night, we ate Italian. It was excellent! I had the chicken parmesan. The chicken was thin and it wasn’t greasy. I really enjoyed it. We skipped dessert because they were having a chocolate party. We went up to the hillside to the party. It was set up around the pool and there were tons of tables covered with chocolate desserts. I am not a big chocolate eater, but I tried a few and they were good. They had models covered in chocolate. I don’t think I could do that. There was also a chocolate fountain with fruit to dip in it. We were supposed to wear white to the party, and the hubby ended up dropping some chocolate from the fountain on his shirt. Major fail! But, we were able to get it laundered and save it!
The next two nights we ate at the Japanese restaurant. Before dinner, we would go to the sushi bar for appetizers. Although the hubby doesn’t eat sushi, he was a good sport and would sit while I ate. Then, we would head over for Japanese. We really like the show cooking, and the waiters and chefs would serenade us with Shaggy songs! They were hilarious!
One of these nights we went up to the hillside to go to the Rabbit Hole. It was a really cool bar that had a lounge singer. She was awesome! We hung out here and listened to the music for a while.
The other night, we went to the steel drum band show. This was my favorite show of the week! The band was absolutely amazing!
Another night, we tried a gourmet restaurant and didn’t like it, so we ate at the snack bar later that night. It was ok. The hubby liked it because you could fix your own nachos. It was only open late at night, and I just didn’t like eating so much junk that late. So, it was good, but I just couldn’t eat very much.
The last night we were there, we ate at the seafood restaurant on the beach. I really enjoyed the fried calamari! We both ordered the ribeye, but it was not good. It wasn’t like steak that we are used to, and it was mostly fat. So, we really didn’t eat much. We also ordered a crème brulee, and it was good, but really really sweet! When we were finished, we went to the show. It was the staff talent show, and I was impressed with how talented they all were.
Overall, it was a great week! Give me a beach and some sun and I’m happy! I can’t wait to go back to Jamaica.
We also did an excursion while we were in Ocho Rios – I will share it in my next post.
Keep reading, we didn’t go straight home – we took a trip to LA! That’s coming up in the next posts
