Spring Has Sprung!

Hey Everyone!  I hope you have had a great first week of spring!  We had some record breaking temps this week.  It was in the 90’s at the beginning of the week and then stayed in the upper 80’s the rest of the time.  It was so nice!   We were able to sit outside after dark and enjoy the warm weather.  The evenings offered the perfect running weather.  And, I love warm mornings.  I am so ready for summer!  more “Spring Has Sprung!”

It’s Been A Great Week!

Hey Guys! Guess what?!!  (<– I’m super excited!!)  The wellness challenge at work is over, and I won!!  My prize is (around) $360 cash!  I’m supposed to get it this next week.  I’m so happy!  I worked really hard.  Spinach, green beans, and broccoli for breakfast were not fun!  Two hours of workouts, 7 days a week wore me down.  And, getting 7 hours of sleep a night was definitely a challenge, but it was all worth it!    more “It’s Been A Great Week!”

Circuits, Treadmills, & A Vacation

Hey guys!  Happy Wednesday!  I have finally had a chance to sit down and get you caught up on what I’ve been doing.  It’s been a really busy week.  I had the best weekend!  We went on a little trip and it was a nice and much needed break.  But, I’ve been playing catch up since we got back and literally have had no time to do anything else!  It was worth it! But, before we get to that, let’s go all the way back to last Monday and get you all caught up.  This is going to be a long recap!     more “Circuits, Treadmills, & A Vacation”

Workouts, Food, & New Shoes

This week marked the half way point in my training.  I have 9 weeks left!  This week I didn’t run all of my runs.  My new shoes took a whole week to get here!  My shin was starting to feel better by Tuesday but I didn’t want to chance hurting it by running in old shoes.  Since I wasn’t running, I made sure to do other workouts in place of my runs.  more “Workouts, Food, & New Shoes”

Food, Fitness, and Life This Week

Hey guys!  How’s it going?  This week has been a blur.  It seriously went by so fast!  When I sat down to write this I had to look back at my pictures to try and remember what all I did all week.  But, I didn’t take very many so that didn’t help.  😉  I’m glad it’s the weekend and I have Monday off so I’m really excited about that!  I hope you all have a great week!  Here’s a recap of my week.  more “Food, Fitness, and Life This Week”

Happy Running

Hey Everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful week!  This was a really busy week for me and I did what I could as far as working out and running.  I just had to be really flexible, and I had a couple of very early mornings!  I still got all of my runs in, but I had to move them around.  I have also been trying to do 2 physical activities each day.  (partly for marathon training, but also for earning points for our wellness challenge at work.)  I did get in 2 activities almost every day, but this week’s weren’t as challenging as last week’s.  This next week should be a lot calmer!  more “Happy Running”

One Month Down

Hey Guys!  Guess what!  Last week I won the weekly wellness challenge at work!  I got a new foam roller as my prize!   I was really excited!  I ended up with 81 points for the week!  This week’s challenge was still physical activity and the bonus points were still for getting at least 7 hours of sleep each night.  But, there was a new bonus challenge added.  You could earn 5 points for drinking 16oz of water first thing in the morning.  This one was a little challenging for me.  I usually drink water as soon as I wake up, but never that much.  But, I did it each day! more “One Month Down”

The Word of the Week is Consistency

Hey Guys!  This is going to be a long recap, because it was a very busy week!  This week was all about being consistent!  This was my third week of marathon training, and I rocked it!  I hope I can keep this up throughout all of the training.  (15 more weeks!)  Since my second week didn’t go according to plan, I wanted to make sure that I worked hard this week.  I pushed myself hard in my workouts, but I also made sure to stretch a lot more, and get a lot of rest so my body could recover.  I really enjoyed my runs and workouts this week!  I felt stronger!    Later on when the training gets really hard, I’ll have to look back and remember how much fun I had this week! more “The Word of the Week is Consistency”

A One Run Week

Hey Guys!  This was week 2 of my marathon training, and it was pretty much a cross training week.  It was too cold and windy to run outside, and then it snowed.  I know some of you run in the snow and temps when it is negative degrees, and I’m super impressed.  But, I can’t do it.  I will run outside when it’s in the upper 20’s, but anything below that is way too cold for me.  So, I got one run in this week and since I was stuck inside all week, I found other workouts to do.  Here’s a look at my week.   more “A One Run Week”
