By Christmas morning, I had already celebrated two Christmases. You can read about my first one here, and Christmas Eve here.
Christmas day was absolutely beautiful!! The weather was amazing and it was 70 degrees outside! We could not have asked for a nicer day! I would take this weather over a white Christmas any year!
One Christmas tradition that my family has is that we always have breakfast on Christmas morning. We’ve done this for as long as I can remember. Another tradition is the food that we always have. There is always sausage balls and strawberry bread. This year was no different!
Jeremy and I got to my parent’s house around 10:15 Christmas morning. I helped my dad finish the gravy and scramble the eggs while Jeremy helped my grandparents bring all of their gifts and food over. (They live across the street.)
Once everything was ready, we sat down to eat. We had scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, and sausage balls. I’m sure by now you know how much I love breakfast food, so I really enjoyed this meal!
We ate and visited with my family. When everyone was finished, we cleaned up and I got busy passing out presents. This has been my job for several years now.
This was my mom’s new cat’s first Christmas. She was all about the paper and bows!
The other cat, Nala, didn’t really care so much. (She used to be mine!)
We went around the room and opened gifts one at a time. It usually takes us awhile to do this. I have a small family, and this year my sister wasn’t able to make it, so there were only 6 of us there. But, after every gift, everyone has look at it and talk about it! This makes it last a lot longer!
My mom got me some Bombas running socks! I am really excited about these! I have been wanting some, and mentioned it to her. I had forgotten all about them. These came just in time for my marathon training!!
I got my grandpa a frame with a picture of me and him in it from Veteran’s Day. He really liked it. (I also gave him some gift cards to some of his favorite restaurants.) We gave my grandma a calendar that I made with all of our family pictures in it. I give her one every year and she absolutely loves it! (I noticed that the majority of our presents were wrapped in Brooks boxes! LOL)
I made my mom a mouse pad with pictures of her cats on it. She loved it!
My grandparents got us this awesome Hickory Farms box! I can’t wait to eat it on New Year’s Eve while we watch football!
After opening presents, we watched the OKC Thunder play and had snacks. Nala wanted to visit Jeremy. He hates cats, so she always has to sit by him! I think she can sense it, and it’s hilarious!
My mom always likes to have finger foods, but I am always so full after breakfast. After opening presents, we had little smokies, cheese dip, tuna sandwiches, ham and cheese sliders, and a table full of sweets!
I snacked on a few sausage balls and some of my grandma’s chocolate dessert. I don’t know what the name of it is, but it is so good! It has chocolate pudding, cream cheese, and whipped cream. It’s amazing!
After sitting around and eating way too much and making myself miserable for most of the afternoon, we gathered up our stuff and headed home to pack for our next Christmas.
