Food, Friends, and Stitch Fix

Hey Guys!

Happy Monday!  Welcome back to another weekly recap!  Since I’m still restricted on what I can do, I have not been able to work out this week.  Even though I don’t have any workouts to report, I do have a post full of food and fun from this week!

We’ll start with last Sunday.  Jeremy took me grocery shopping since it was still pretty hard for me to get around alone.  We found these cute little tortillas and I had to have them!

When we got home, I got busy meal prepping.  After two weeks of laying on the couch and eating take out since I couldn’t cook, I was ready for some better food.  I made ground turkey, steamed cauliflower rice, and steamed green beans.  I put a little soy sauce on the turkey and rice and topped it with avocado when I ate it.  That is one of my favorite meal prep meals.

Monday was a great day!  It was the first day in over two weeks that I was able to walk without help!  I was so excited to not have to use the scooter or crutches anymore!  (I still have to use the crutches if I don’t have my boot on, but I can at least put some weight on my foot.  I just can’t walk on it without the boot.)  That morning I started my day with some pumpkin pie yogurt.  I am in full on pumpkin mode!  I have been craving pumpkin everything, and I went to two grocery stores yesterday and they were both out of canned pumpkin!  I guess everyone else is craving it too.

For lunch I had my meal that I prepped.  I actually ended up throwing out all the grapes and replacing them with pineapple for the rest of the week.  They were so sour!

My snack that afternoon was some pineapple and coconut.  I love those flavors together!

Dinner was just a sandwich with turkey and swiss and avocado.

Tuesday I went over to visit my parents…and their cats.  This one decided he wanted to try and catch a fish out of her fish pond.  He doesn’t have any claws, but it was funny to watch him swat at them.  I kept waiting on him to fall in!

Tuesday night was TACO TUESDAY!  We tried out those tiny tortillas.  I had some chicken and beef fajita meat that I cooked.  The tiny tortillas were fun, but they definitely weren’t big enough to hold more than a couple slices of meat.  But, I loved them!

On Wednesday I got a package in the mail! I love when I get stuff!  I decided to try out Stitch Fix.  I have been wanting to try it out for a long time, but have put it off because I just assumed it would be really expensive.  I was surprised at how easy it was, and how inexpensive it really was!  I was also hesitant to try it because I didn’t want to sign up for a monthly subscription, especially if I didn’t like it after the first one.  But, you can schedule one at a time, or pick the frequency that you want to receive your boxes.   I decided to try it out, because even if I didn’t like it, all I would be out was $20 for the styling fee.

As soon as my box got here, I couldn’t wait to open it and try everything on!  I got five pieces of clothing in my first box.  My stylist was right on point with what she sent me.  The colors were perfect!

I absolutely LOVED the green moto pants!  Those were my favorite.

I got a gray sweater, a flowered kimono, a dark pink long sleeve shirt, and a really pretty burgundy shirt with lace detail.  Even though the colors were perfect, the fit on all of the tops was a little off.  I really liked the kimono, but it was too big.  And, the burgundy shirt fit great, but it was $70.  It was the most expensive thing in the box.  I got these little cards in my box that gave ideas of what to pair each piece with.

All of the shirts, except the burgundy, were under $30.  The pants were $48 – and my $20 styling fee was applied towards those.  I loved it so much that I already scheduled another box for this weekend!  If you want to try it out, you can click the link below.  (I will get $25 to apply to my next order if you schedule a box.)

I would seriously recommend this for everyone!  It has been so hard for me to go shopping with this boot on my foot, so this so awesome to be able to try on at home and easily send back what didn’t fit.

I don’t have any pictures from Thursday, and I honestly can’t remember what I did during the day.  That’s bad!  I know I had the same breakfast and lunch all week and dinner was a sandwich.  Thursday night I went to a little school carnival and hung out with a friend and her daughter.  Jeremy was reffing a tournament and I am not liking being alone right now.   This is the funniest kid I have ever met! She keeps me laughing!  (I brought her a donut last week when we went to Hurt’s Donuts.  She told her mom that I got her a big, fat, juicy one! lol)

Friday afternoon Jake and I sat on the front porch and soaked up some sun.  I am not ready for the weather to change at all!  I still have flowers blooming!

When Jeremy got home, we took Jake for a walk, and I could actually walk this time!

He was so proud of that branch he found.

That night Jeremy and I went to our taco joint and were hoping to watch the Yankees play, but their Dish was down.  I ordered a fish taco and a chicken taco.  I love their fish tacos and I love all the fresh cilantro!

Sorry! It’s blurry!

After dinner, we went over to my father-in-laws to visit for awhile.  Saturday morning I slept in till 11!  That is so unlike me, but I guess I needed it.  Jeremy got up at 7:30 and I never heard him.  I hung around the house most of the day and then ran to get some groceries for the week.  Since we were going out to dinner again, I decided to try and curl my hair.  I got some layers cut in it right before my surgery, but I haven’t done anything to it yet.  It turned out wavy, but I liked it for something different.

We went to an Italian restaurant for dinner.  I’m not much for pasta, but Jeremy is.  We started with some fried calamari and I had a small Caesar salad with the dressing on the side.

For our dinner, we ordered a small pizza and baked ziti to share.  By the time it came, I was already full.  We took home the whole pizza except one piece!

We ended the night watching Live PD.  Does anyone else watch this?  I love it!

On Sunday morning a cold front came in so Jeremy went hunting.  I went to church with my parents and then we went out to lunch.  I forgot to take a picture, but I had a side salad with a piece of grilled chicken on top.  It had chicken, cucumber, hard boiled eggs, romaine lettuce, onion, and croutons.  After lunch I went over and hung out with my grandparents and then my parents for awhile.  (They live across the street from each other.)  When I got back, we went to feed Jessie.  She had been rolling in the mud and was covered!  It took me forever to brush her!

We ended the night with tacos again and I am binge watching New Girl on Netflix.  I watched it until I fell asleep.

I hope you all have a great week!

I am glad to hear you liked the first Stitch fix box… I’ve been tempted to try it for a while, but also thought it might be expensive and then maybe I wouldn’t like anything. I should give it a try.

I also do Stitch Fix, and it’s nice to add a couple things now and then to my wardrobe. Usually I keep at least one thing, and I get a box every other month. I don’t like what’s in stores, and I really like what I’ve kept.

I’ve started having that problem too. Every time I go shopping I can’t ever seem to find anything that I like!

I love how Stitch Fix provides outfit inspirations! Is it a hassle to return unwanted items?
I love pumpkin season, but I’m not much for pumpkin spice lattes (gasp!). I much prefer Christmas flavors like peppermint tea and mocha. I must find that pumpkin Greek yogurt.
You’re not a pasta person?! I wish I weren’t. . .my love for pasta is the reason I couldn’t ever go low-carb. I think I was Italian in a past life, lol.

It was so easy to return the clothes. They sent a prepaid bag to put them in and drop it at the post office. Then you just go online and select the ones you are returning and tell why, and then pay for what you keep. So easy! I’m not much for PSL’s either! I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but I’m with you on the Christmas flavors! I love hot chocolate! I really used to like pasta a lot, and I always loved alfredo. But, now it hurts my stomach so I don’t eat it much ☹️. I do love Italian food too! Mostly pizza! Lol
