Hey Guys! Can you believe that Christmas is already over? I had such a great Christmas and I am a little sad that it’s over, but I’m looking forward to the new year. We crammed a lot of celebrations into three days, and it was a whirlwind of fun! Christmas Eve
We hosted Christmas Eve at our house. Jeremy’s dad, his Aunt Sandra and Uncle Bill, and my grandparents came. I guess I completely spaced out because I didn’t take any pictures of dinner. We set up a taco bar and let everyone fix their own tacos. For dessert we had peach cobbler, pecan pie, and sopapilla cheesecake.
Then we opened presents. Jake went first because he couldn’t wait any longer. He got a lot of toys and a new bone to chew on. He had all of his toys chewed up within about 10 minutes!
Jeremy and I picked out our own presents this year. I got a new Fitbit Charge 2. I’m loving it! I love how it automatically tracks my sleep and heart rate. Jeremy did surprise me with some new Nike’s. I had tried them on a few weeks ago, and he went back and bought them. I had no idea I was getting them.
I was most excited for Jeremy’s gift. He picked out some shoes, and he thought that was all he was getting. But, I surprised him with a big gift. I got him a new pistol. He’s been wanting one for a while, so my dad picked it out and I went and bought it for him. He was so surprised!
After dinner and presents, we went to look at Christmas lights. Our park has a huge display, but they weren’t turned on due to the bad weather. (It was really foggy – not sure what that has to do with lights??)
But, we found some houses with beautiful light displays. The one below is an older gentlemen that I used to go to church with. He has been putting this display up for as long as I can remember. He has handmade and painted every piece of it. It’s pretty impressive! My name is on Santa’s list too! All of the kids at church are and he adds to it every year.
We slept in a little bit today because I woke up at 4 am and felt awful! I had a sinus infection and my tonsils were swollen shut. This was the worst time to get sick! Since Christmas fell on a Sunday, we didn’t do our usual tradition of breakfast. Instead we did lunch after everyone got out of church.
We had pulled pork sandwiches and chips.
Then we had a ton of desserts to choose from.
My mom’s cat was ready to open presents.
So we did, and I got a lot of stuff to redo our bedroom.
My parents and grandparents bought me new curtains and new sheets. I can’t wait to paint and get it all done! (That’s Jeremy’s big gift to me!)
We got my grandma a pearl necklace and she loved it!
After spending the afternoon visiting, we headed to visit Jeremy’s mom. She lives an hour away. I must have rubbed off on Jeremy because he sang Christmas songs with me the whole way there! 🙂 We took her to dinner at Ihop. It was the only thing open. And then she opened her presents.
We got home late and I was ready to crash.
The Day After
Today we headed down to Jeremy’s aunt and uncle’s farm. All of our cousins were there for Christmas.
We got there just in time to go fishing.
The fish weren’t really biting, so we shot guns for a while. (I actually hit the clay pigeon. Ok…it was once out of six tries, but I hit it!)
Then we headed back to the house for a snack. We snacked on some veggies and ranch dip. We sat around talking and playing games until dinner.
There was so much food to choose from. I had some roast, sweet potatoes, and baked okra.
Then we opened gifts!
After that, Macy, F, and I watched Mulan and colored until it was time for me and Jeremy to leave.
I had the best Christmas, and I love getting to spend so much time with family. I’m kind of sad that it’s over, but I’m ready to get back on track and quit eating so much junk. One can only have so much will power when there are so many sweet temptations around! 🙂
I hope you all had a great Christmas and I hope you have a Happy New Year!
