Hi Guys! I hope you have had a great week! Mine was okay…alright, it actually totally sucked! I have literally been sick and tired all week. I feel like I’ve been a huge downer lately because of my back, and then this week I got sick. But, what do you do? 🙂 I did get to watch a ton of Netflix. I won’t complain about that! I was sick all week long and completely worn out. All I wanted to do was sleep, which just made me mad that I couldn’t run. But I’m finally starting to feel better and I got in a run yesterday and another one today. I did take Jake on a walk each day so I could meet my Pile on the Miles goal. Plus, he didn’t care if I felt good or not. He just wanted to play!
I have been telling myself all week, “I’m not sick, I’m not sick!” It didn’t really work. 🙁
Monday morning I woke up with a pounding headache. I figured it was a sinus infection because my ear and my face hurt too. But, I didn’t feel stopped up. About an hour after I got up, my stomach started hurting, and then everything started aching. Luckily, I had a doctor’s appointment for later in the afternoon anyways. By the time I got there, I was really sick! I was running fever and she said I had a stomach bug and a sinus infection. She sent me home with some nausea medicine and an antibiotic (which I couldn’t start until I was done with the stomach bug). I got home around 3 and went straight to bed for the night.
I slept all night and when I woke up on Tuesday, my stomach felt a little better and I was actually hungry. But, the rest of me didn’t feel any better. I was achy everywhere and my head hurt bad. I went ahead and went to work and by the time I got off, my head was pounding! I took Jake for a walk, and then I crashed on the couch. Jeremy had games, so he was gone late. I went to bed at 7 and got up for about 20 minutes when he got home at 11.
Wednesday when I woke up I felt better! My appetite was back and my head didn’t hurt. But, as the day went on, I wore down and by the time I got home my head and my body were hurting again and I just wanted to go to bed. But, I didn’t get to. Jeremy was home waiting on me to get there and we took Jake for a walk.
Then we brushed the horse and rode her until dark. We let her out in the back yard and Jake played with her. They are so funny! He lays in front of her and she will stand there and put her head down against him.
After dark, I fixed us a big breakfast for dinner and then I went to bed really early.
Thursday morning when I got up, I felt so much better. But, again as the day went on I felt achy and not so great. After work, I stopped at Wal-Mart and got everything I’m going to need for Thanksgiving. When I got home I took Jake for a quick walk.
Then I stretched for a little bit because I was hoping that would help with the achiness. I skipped out on Jeremy’s games and parked myself on the couch for the night. I slept off and on from about 5 until Jeremy got home around 10. Then I went to bed.
Friday morning I still felt achy when I got up. The stretching didn’t help at all! The good news was that my appetite was finally back and I had a really good salad for lunch. It had spinach, almonds, cranberries, grilled chicken, and cheese. (I did not like the cheese)
After work, I went for a short walk. It was really cold and my head and throat still hurt so I didn’t want to be out in it too long. I bundled up and walked and then we fed the horse and played with Jake.
I stayed home from Jeremy’s games so I could sleep some more. I stayed on the couch all night, and Jake never left my side.
I slept until 10:30 on Saturday morning. I seriously don’t know how I can sleep so much! I checked the weather and it said it was 37. I really wanted to go for a run because I was tired of not doing anything all week, but I was afraid to be out in the cold because my throat, ear, and head were still hurting. I waited until about 3, and it warmed up a little.
It really wasn’t that bad as long as I was in the sun. I ran 3 chilly miles. This was the first run that I’ve had to bundle up for. I love running in the cold because I can breathe so much better. But, since it was cold, I didn’t want to take a chance on getting sicker, so I stopped at 3.
For the first time in a long time, I didn’t wear my watch or time myself. I really enjoyed this run and I think I ran better when I wasn’t feeling like I had to run a certain pace. Or it could have been the cold air or the fact that I hadn’t run in a week.
After my run, I had more energy than I’d had all week. Jake and I spent some time with the horse. He likes to roll around in her pen. He’s so weird!
Once the energy wore off, all I wanted to do was close my eyes and sleep. I curled up on the couch and stayed there for the rest of the night. We didn’t even go to our taco joint. 🙁
I woke up at 4 am on Sunday morning. Jeremy was going hunting, so he got up at 5 and I couldn’t go back to sleep. I was so cold all day and could not get warm. So, I waited until it warmed up outside before I headed out for a run. I had some Spark and ran a couple of errands, and then I headed out. I was pretty disappointed because the race I had been training for was today. So, I went out ran 8 miles! It wasn’t 13, but I’ll take it!
After my run I did an ab workout and then stretched. Then….I made some homemade oatmeal cream pies. (recipe from simplytaralynn.com)
We picked up some smoked turkey in town for dinner and ate it while we watched tv, and then had a cookie for dessert!
