A Fun Filled Weekend

Hey Guys!  Happy Monday! We had a fun weekend and I’m sad it’s over.  It was kind of like the calm before the storm.  This week is going to be crazy busy and a lot of FUN!! We had plans to go out of town this past weekend, but last minute they fell through.  I was disappointed, but also a little relieved.  We both needed some sleep and I had a ton of stuff to get done before this week.

I spent Friday evening going through my closet and packing for the weekend and putting together some outfits for this week.  (You’ll have to follow me on snapchat and insta to find out what we’re doing.  It will be a lot of fun!) When Jeremy got home from work, we headed to our taco joint for dinner.  I ordered a carne asada taco and a fish taco.  I really love their fish tacos!

Jeremy talked me into trying that pepper.  He took a bite first and said it was really good and I would like it.  He said it wasn’t hot at all.  So, I took a bite.  It burned all the way down!  And of course at that moment I was out of water and the waitress was no where to be seen.  That was not a nice trick!

After dinner, we headed home and watched tv for about an hour and then went to bed early.  I was sooooo tired!

Saturday morning I slept in.  I really needed some sleep and if I didn’t sleep Saturday I wouldn’t get any for a couple of weeks.  I felt bad because one of my best friends was hosting a 5K as a fundraiser for the school she works at.  I really wanted to do it, but I knew I needed sleep.  If I would have done the race, I would have had to get up at 5:15 and be there by 6:45.  I’ll do it next year.  I promise L!

Once I woke up Saturday, I headed out and ran 7 miles.  Here are some pics of what I saw on my run.  (It was a real snake, by the way!)

After running, I headed into town to do a little shopping.  I still needed a few new tops so I went and found some!  And, I got a bonus when I found some new Silver jeans on sale!

When I got home, Jake and I visited with Brooke (the horse) and we played outside.  Jake loves this time of year.

Saturday night Jeremy and I met some friends at Applebees for dinner.  We had talked about going to our taco place again, but their daughter wanted mac and cheese at Applebees.

I ordered the fiesta lime chicken with no sauce or cheese on top and fire grilled veggies on the side.  It was really good.  I really liked the veggies and could have eaten about three more sides of them.  We had a lot of fun hanging out with our friends!

After dinner, we went home and watched the baseball game and then went to bed.

Sunday morning I got up and had to clean my house and head to the grocery store.  Then I spent the afternoon outside with Jeremy.  The weather was absolutely beautiful.

It looks like fall!
It looks like fall!

We took Jake for a walk and I rode my bike for a while.  Then we ate dinner, watched Neighbors 2 before bed.  The movie was very dirty and totally inappropriate but funny.  It wasn’t as funny as the first one though.  It was a great weekend, but I am really ready for this week!  I hope you all have a great week!

What’s carne asada? Is that an ethical dish?

Welcome!! I’m so happy you’re reading my blog! Carne asada is beef. It’s usually skirt steak or flank steak and it’s grilled cut into strips for tacos. It’s really good!

I’ve never been to Applebees (I’m Canadian and there are only a few here through out the country) but those grilled veggies look so delicious!

Your weekends always sound so great 🙂

I love the weekends! I’m not a huge fan of applebees and we only go when someone invites us. But, those veggies and that chicken was probably one of the best meals I’ve had there.

I am going to figure out how to get my grilled veggies to look and taste like that. LOL And, I’m going to figure out what’s in the dressing that came with them!

It is finally starting to look a little like fall. It’s so crazy since it’s almost Halloween, but I’m not complaining! I just hope that doesn’t mean we have a very cold winter…
