Weekend Festivities

Happy Monday Friends!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  We had a busy Saturday and a relaxing and rainy Sunday.  I had hoped on getting a run in on Sunday, but it rained and stormed all day.  So, I had to stay inside and do a circuit workout and some strength training.  Let’s start this weekend recap off with Friday night.

Friday night we went to Rib Crib for dinner.  I ordered a side salad and shared Jeremy’s dinner with him.  He ordered a combo with smoked chicken, sliced brisket, and ribs.  I ate some of the smoked chicken and sliced brisket.  After dinner we went home and I went straight to bed.  I was soooo tired and went right to sleep!

Saturday morning I woke up at 6:30. (way too early for a Saturday – and I wasn’t even running!)  We went to a small festival that our local electric company puts on every year.  We get a check for being stock holders in the cooperation, so we went to pick it up.  We got a whopping $18!   They have a bunch of local vendors with all kinds of stuff.  (mainly junk)  We bought a couple of knives, that cost $18, and then I bid on a cut and color from my hair girl that was in a silent auction.  And I won it!  For half the price that it normally costs me!

We walked through everything quickly and then headed to an auction.  You know how much Jeremy loves auctions.  It was all farm equipment and cows.  I was so bored!  But, they were selling a couple of things that Jeremy was interested in so we stayed until they sold.  And, of course they went for way more than they should.

Then, we picked up my grandma and headed to the homecoming parade.  It was our university’s homecoming.

The parade was pretty good.  It was long, and some of the floats were cool, but there weren’t as many bands as usual.

After the parade, we dropped my grandma off and went home for a little while. I worked on some posts and then rode my bike around while Jeremy worked in the yard.

For dinner we headed to our favorite taco joint.  It was packed tonight.  We ordered some tacos to share.  I had a fish taco and a carne asada taco.  They were sooo good!

We also ordered a sopapilla to share.  It comes with two small ones on a plate – perfect for sharing!

Then we came home and watched the second half of the Oklahoma State game. (Read: I fell asleep while Jeremy watched.)

Sunday morning we slept in a little bit.  It was raining when I got up so I had some cheerios and picked up my house.  I worked on some blog posts and did a circuit workout.  I kept hoping that the rain would go away long enough so I could run, but it didn’t.

I also got my meal prep done for the week.  I made bowls with ground turkey, bell pepper, onion, rice, and avocado and I made some small salads to go with it.  Sunday was really a relaxed day and I actually watched a lot of Netflix.  The rain made me want to curl up on the couch and wrap up in a blanket.  It was a nice break from the hundred degree weather!  And, apparently I was so busy relaxing that I forgot to take any pictures on Sunday!  Oops!

I hope you all had a great weekend, and a great start to your week!
