Hi Friends! Welcome to this week’s recap! I had a really busy week of work, but I also had a solid week of workouts and runs. And, the weekend brought some cooler temperatures so it was actually tolerable to be outside! A busy week called for a relaxing weekend and that’s just what we did. I included my weekend recap in this one since we relaxed all weekend. Let’s go back to Monday.
I woke up at 6:30 to get in a run before it got too hot. I was so surprised when I headed out. It was 68 degrees! It was so nice the entire time! As much as I love summer, I am ready for the temperatures to cool down a little bit. I love running in the cooler weather! Later in the afternoon I did a circuit workout from Simply Taralynn’s August Fitness Challenge. The workout was a challenging one, but I felt great when it was done!
When I was finished with that, Jeremy took me to ride my new four wheeler!
For dinner we had burgers. I ate a veggie burger with some roasted okra and Jeremy had a real burger. His looked really good!
Then we watched Bachelor in Paradise. It’s so cheesy, I know, but I’m hooked! (Jake loves toilet paper rolls. He runs and wants to be chased when he gets one.)
I had a meeting at 8:00 that morning so I didn’t have time to get a run in. I don’t like running in the dark! I was in and out all day until late in the afternoon. Once I got home, I did a quick circuit workout. It was quick, but hard and super sweaty! Later in the evening when it cooled off, I took Jake for a long walk. Since he’s been sick, he hasn’t been able to do anything. But, he was feeling better and needed some exercise. So his walk was more of a run and he had a ton of energy!
Jake also had to get the mail before we went in.
Jeremy worked late, so we stayed up really late watching tv once he got home.
I had my alarm set for 6:30 to get up and run. I remember turning it off and thinking, “I’ll get up in a couple of minutes”. I guess I went back to sleep because we didn’t wake up until 9:00! I have honestly never done that! I always get up when my alarm rings, usually before. I had to go to work, so I had to wait until later in the day to run. I was so tired all day! I had a spark before work, and then another one before working out. I did a 40 minute Tabata workout. I kept doing these moves over and over until the last set. I did planks for the last set of the workout.
After that, I headed out for a run. It was super hot, but there was a breeze blowing and the sun was going down so that helped. I ran slow because of the heat and I didn’t want to get sick. I ran for 40 minutes and was right under 4 miles.
Then, I took Jake for a 30 minute walk. We walked until almost dark and then headed home to the shower! I was worn out!
I woke up at 6:30 to get ready to run. I had had a really hard time going to sleep Wednesday night, so I didn’t sleep much. I had some spark before I headed out. But, I was so tired that it really didn’t help much. I ran/walked 5 miles. It was only 77 degrees, but it was 93% humidity! It was hard to breathe. I had a meeting in the morning and then I came back home and took a nap! I needed it! Then, I did some much needed yoga in the afternoon. My muscles really needed it! I tried Yoga with Adrienne and I loved it!
After yoga, I took Jake for a long walk. It was hot and I took a water bottle for him, but he wouldn’t drink it. I don’t think he appreciated me pouring it on his head!
Later that night, one of my friends came by to show me her new car. She bought a brand new shiny red corvette! We went riding around town for a while with the top off! It. Was. Awesome!
I was busy with work all day! So, when I got home and it cooled off a little, I took Jake for a long walk. He played with his friends until he was tired.
When I took him home, I headed out for a run. I didn’t make it very far because all the dogs were out, and not the nice ones. I went one way and there was a big black dog out. He makes me nervous because I don’t know if he’s friendly or not. He doesn’t sound like he is. And he’s a police drug dog, so I’m not sure if my pepper spray would work if I had to spray him. So, I turned around and went the other way. But, there was another big dog down that road. He was sitting at the end of his driveway, so I decided not to try and run by. He has chased me several times before. I just headed home. All together I got in 2.5 miles. I did some strength training instead.
Jeremy and I spent the day riding our four wheelers! It was 87 degrees and was super nice outside. I wanted to be out all day!
We even saw a deer. It was really cool because it stood and watched us for a long time. I guess it wasn’t sure what we were.
Saturday night we went to our usual dinner spot. This time I ordered the fajitas instead of the fajita plate. I didn’t like them as much though. The chicken was cut too small and it was dry. I still enjoyed them. But, I’ll stick to the chicken fajita plate from now on. After dinner we went to Walmart and got our grocery shopping out of the way for the weekend. Then we went home and fell asleep watching Ocean’s Eleven on TV.
We slept in a little today. I was able to sleep in because it was in the low 80’s all day! So, I didn’t go for a run until almost noon. I ran 3 miles and then headed home to get some work done.
Jeremy worked in the yard all day, and I had some things to get done inside. This post included! Once I got some things checked off my list, I did a 30 minute Tabata workout. Then, I went for a 30 minute walk. The weather was just too nice to be inside all day.
Tonight I’m fixing pork chops, okra, and salads for dinner. What are you having?
