Happy Monday! I hope you all have a great day and a great start to the week! I had a pretty low key weekend, which was nice. We stayed around the house and I enjoyed every second of it! It wasn’t all completely boring. We did have a few highlights during the weekend, so I’ll fill you in.
Friday evening right before dark, Jeremy and I went to pick blackberries. We weren’t there 10 minutes and it started thundering and lightning. We didn’t want to get soaked, so we ran back home. We decided to stay in and order a pizza for dinner. We always order the same thing – pepperoni and hamburger. We were looking at the menu online, and I don’t know if we were just really hungry or were both in a weird mood. But, we ordered something totally different! We decided to each choose what toppings we wanted and then put them all together on one pizza. We ended up with pepperoni, hamburger, Canadian bacon, bacon, Italian sausage, jalapeños, banana peppers, and asiago cheese. It was very tasty. But also very spicy! (Lol…wild!!) We flipped through the channels for awhile before going to bed.
Saturday morning I slept in a little because it was storming. Luckily, by the time I was ready to run around 10 it had quit raining. It was still overcast, 79 degrees, and a cool breeze was blowing – the perfect running conditions!
I really didn’t want to get up, and even once I was I kept thinking of reasons why I could skip my run. But, then I saw a snapchat and instagram post from my friend, southernlivingyankee, about her great 5 mile run and that gave me the kick in the tail I needed to get out the door! I ran 4.5 miles and then walked almost another half mile back home. I stretched really good when I was done. My legs felt really sore. Which is so weird.
I spent the next couple of hours cleaning the house. I know I do this a lot, but Jake sheds soooo much! I literally have never seen another dog that sheds as much as he does. Then I got ready to go to my grandpa’s birthday party. He turned 84! My grandma had us all over for dinner. She was grilling hamburgers and hot dogs. Jeremy and I went over early to help, and I took some turkey dogs for them to grill for me. Jeremy ended grilling the food while I helped my grandma get everything ready inside. (Read: I hadn’t eaten all day so I snacked on chips and opened jars she sat on the counter.) I wanted a hamburger so much! They looked so good! (And Jeremy said they were!) But, I ate my turkey dogs and they were really really good!
After dinner, my grandpa opened his presents and the we had cake! We visited for a couple hours before heading home to play with Jake.
We did absolutely nothing on Sunday! My aunt was in town visiting from Houston, so she and my grandparents came over to visit for a little while and check out our garden. And that was literally the most exciting thing we did all day!
How was your weekend?
