Hi! This week was a great week running-wise. I got in more miles than I have been, and had a lot of fun doing it. I made a new running friend this week. This is why I love the running community so much! I ran into a stranger on the road and we bonded over running! I didn’t do a lot of extra workouts, but I’m happy with my running mileage.
Monday – I did not sleep at all on Sunday night. Not even dozing. I was wide awake all night and I have no idea why! I really didn’t want to get up and run, but I knew if I didn’t then I wouldn’t later in the day. So, I got up at 7:15 and headed out. I was a mile into my run and was coming to the top of the side road when I ran into a girl. I have seen her several times running the main road, so I stopped and asked how far up the road she ran. She said she ran the whole road and invited me to come with her. Of course I said yes! We ran 4 miles and talked the whole time. It was a lot of fun and I found out that she lives about a half mile past me. We exchanged numbers and planned on running together again! I ended up with right under 5 miles when we got back to my house.
Jake was waiting for me to take him for a walk. I was super hot, so I had to drink a whole bottle of water before we went. He ran for the first part of it, but then got hot. I ended up with 5.27 miles for the day.
When we got back home, I drank another bottle of water and then did a short circuit workout. (The same one I did last week.)
After showering, I had a chocolate protein shake. Then I got ready to run some errands and head to the pool! I hung out there for a few hours and relaxed!
Tuesday – No sleep on Sunday night caught up with me today! I got up early to run, but that didn’t happen. When I got up, my body felt so sore – especially my back. I just felt exhausted. So, I slept for a couple of more hours. Then I spent the day lounging around the house resting. Jake and I shared a sandwich for lunch. That afternoon I did do some stretching to try and get rid of the soreness, but that was all I did.
help watch Jeremy water the garden. It’s really growing fast! And I’m so excited about all the okra!
Wednesday – I met up with my new runner friend, Shannon, and one of her friends for an early morning run. Before they got to my house, I sat on the front porch enjoying the sunrise. It’s so peaceful in the mornings!
The three of us ran three and a half miles together, and then when we got to my house I ran down the side road to make it four miles. We ran through all the road construction – they were laying asphalt. (They are so close to finally being finished!) The new road is really nice to run on!
After my run, I did a 30 minute circuit workout. It was 8:30 am when I finished and I already had over 10,000 steps! I was worn out!
Jake was at the groomer’s all day, so I cleaned up the house and went to pick up a few groceries. When he came home, I played with him the rest of the afternoon. For dinner, I fixed us some chicken quesadillas.
Thursday – I got up at 7:15 and headed out for a run. It didn’t start off very well – I think because I was still half asleep! And, about a mile into it my stomach started growling. It was cool and overcast out, but it was soooo humid that I was having a hard time breathing. I made it 3.5 miles and was heading home when I got a text from Shannon that she was about to head out for a run if I wanted to go. I said yes! I ran home to get a drink and met her on the road. I ran another 3.5 miles. Well, we walked and talked the last half mile.
Then, once she left me at my house, I took Jake for a half mile walk. He played with all his friends.
I was super tired and hot by the time we got back. I made into my kitchen and sat down on the floor! Jake kept trying to lick my face, he didn’t know what was wrong. I sat there until I drank almost a whole liter of water!
The only other workout that I did was some squats. Later in the afternoon I ran to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things for the lake this weekend and Jake needed some new toys. I hate going to Wal-Mart during the day because it is so busy. People drive me crazy when they block the entire aisles and talk! Move!!! 🙂
Friday – I woke up around 8 and headed out for a run. This run was awful! No matter how hard I tried, I just did not have the energy to do it. I ran 2 miles and then I walked 1.
I went home to get Jake and took him for a 1 mile walk.
We went to check out the blackberry bushes, and there were a lot of ripe berries.
So, I took Jake back home and got a bucket. I went back and picked some berries! I love fresh blackberries!
When I got back I started a circuit workout. But, I only made it one time through. I was really tired! The rest of the day was spent doing laundry and getting ready for our weekend at the lake!
