Hi Everyone! Happy Friday! I’m so excited for this holiday weekend. We’re going to spend the weekend with some family. I hope you have an exciting weekend planned and enjoy it! Today’s Friday Five is all about fitness. I decided to tell you about five workouts that I am loving this summer!
Running – Of course this is going to be the top of list. But, it’s true, I love running. I am slowly becoming a morning runner. The weather is forcing me to. And I’m loving it. I love being out on the road as the sun comes up. It’s so peaceful and pretty in the mornings. Plus, once my run is over, I’m done for the day! I can have my run and a workout done before 8 am and not have to worry about fitting it in later in the day.
Circuit workouts – I have never tried this on my own before, but when I missed some runs because of the heat, I had to do something, and I decided to give this a try. I love it! It doesn’t get boring, because you are constantly changing moves and I feel like I really did something when I’m done. I started with some I found on Pinterest, and then I made my own.
You Tube videos – I love youtube workout videos! You can find any kind of workout you want on there and it’s free! I have been doing some Jillian Michaels ab workouts the past couple of weeks and love them. They are a good cardio and core workout.
Yoga – I have started doing more yoga. I am really bad at stretching. I always have been! I know it helps prevent injury, but it’s just something I never do. (My dance teacher used to get so mad at me because I wouldn’t stretch enough!) I’m really enjoying it on off days from running, and even after a run or workout.
Walking – Lately I have been taking walks right before dark when it cools off. I love walking because I can zone out and listen to music. Jake also loves to go walk and play. I’ve also been taking him on walks in the mornings after my runs. It’s the only times of the day that he can stand to be out.
