Hello Everyone!! How was your week? Mine was pretty exciting! I was on the go most of the time, but I still found time to get in my workouts and runs! The weather is still getting hotter, and I’m not complaining when I can hang out in the pool. But, it’s making my runs difficult. But, even though it’s hot, I still love summer and am happy that the sun is shining!
Monday – I went to spend the day with my cousin today! We needed some girl time! I had a blast, and she treated me to lots of good food. You can read all about it here.
Tuesday – I got up early this morning to try and beat the heat. That is getting more and more difficult. I ran 3 miles and cooled off for a minute when I was finished.
Then I took Jake on a 1 mile run. He didn’t get to do anything on Monday since I was gone, so he was excited to run. He got hot and was tired when we got back.
After we cooled off, I did a short circuit workout. I made up my own, and this is what I did.
I did it three times through, and it took me about 30 minutes.
Jake thought I was trying to play with him, so he stayed right under me almost the entire time!
Tuesday afternoon I went with Jeremy to check on his crew at a job they were at. I could not believe the house! Every single room was a different color! It was crazy! Good thing they are repainting all of it!
Wednesday – We got up early today because we were going to Oklahoma City to shop all day. I got up extra early so Jake and I could still sit on the patio like we do every morning.
Once I was ready, we hit the road. This was Jeremy’s present to me for my birthday. (He’s smart – he lets me pick out what I want!) He bought me lots of new clothes and took me to dinner! We started at the mall and went in almost every store. We didn’t have breakfast, so we grabbed an early lunch in the food court. They had a place called Freshen’s, which had healthy options. So I got a grilled chicken Caesar salad.
I was shopping for dresses to wear on vacation, but I had no luck. I did get a ton of new tanks and shorts, a couple of new rompers, new shoes, and a couple of swim suit cover-ups. After leaving the mall, we headed to Old Navy and stocked up on the $2 tank sale. I had to have a little pick me up later in the afternoon.
Then we headed back to Norman to go to their mall and Academy.
After a day of shopping, I was super hungry! A burger sounded really good, so we went to Red Robin for dinner.
I ate every bit of my burger! But, I was not a fan of the garlic Parmesan fries – they were sitting in oil. By the time we got home, around 11:45, I had almost 20,000 steps on my Fitbit!
Thursday – I was planning on getting up early to run, but since we went to bed so late, Jeremy let me sleep in. He turned off the alarm and closed the door so I didn’t hear him. I didn’t wake up until 9, which is so unlike me. I must have been really tired! By 9, it was way too hot and humid. So, I did another circuit workout. I basically did the same thing I did on Tuesday, but added in some more moves.
Jake got a new toy to play with while I worked out. He wasn’t too impressed with it because it didn’t have any stuffing in it for him to tear out.
I worked up a good sweat!
After showering, I headed over to my grandma’s. (Sporting my new Olympics tank that Jeremy bought me Tuesday.)
She gave me her china and crystal. It was actually her aunt’s before it was passed down to her. So, we spent the afternoon wrapping each piece in bubble wrap so I could haul it to my house. I’m so excited about it, it’s beautiful!
Once we got it all packed up, I went back home to wait on Jeremy to get done umpiring. He came and picked me up, and we went to check on another job that he has going, and then we went to pick up the china. (I couldn’t lift the boxes.)
When we got home, it was still hot, but I decided to head out for a run. It wasn’t humid, and the sun was going down so it wasn’t that bad. The road that I was running on was shaded and there was a breeze blowing. I ran my fastest 5K since before marathon training. I really had to work on slowing down my pace for the marathon, so now I’m working on getting my speed back. I was pretty excited about my run. I didn’t get sick, and I felt great the whole time! (I did wash my shirt before I put it back on for my run.)
After my run, I took Jake for a walk/run.
Then we cut up some pineapple! My favorite right now! (And yes, I said we, Jake loves it!)
And, I had breakfast for dinner – in bed! (Egg white plus 1 egg yolk scramble with bell peppers and hot sauce, turkey sausage links, Sara Lee 45 calorie bread, and a ton of pineapple.)
Friday – I got up early today and still did not beat the heat. It wasn’t too bad at first, but I ended up having to cut my run short because of the heat and my stomach got upset. I made it almost 4 miles before I had to go home. I drank a bottle of water and rested for a few minutes and then I took Jake for a walk.
We went to check out our blackberry bushes. They have a ton of berries on them and they look good! I can’t wait until they are ready to pick.
I spent the afternoon working on some posts and cleaning out my closet!
