June Runfessions

Happy Friday Everyone!!  I’m so happy it’s Friday.  It’s also the last Friday of June, which I’m bummed about because the summer goes by too fast.  But, since it’s the last Friday, that means that it’s time for my runfessions for June. I’m linking up with Marcia today from Marcia’s Healthy Slice.  Please stop by and join in with your own Runfessions!

I runfess that I have been a big baby this month and have skipped out on runs if I don’t go out in time to beat the heat.  It has been super hot and humid.  That mixed with my already upset stomach was not a good combination.  So, I have missed a few runs due to oversleeping and being a big wimp.  But, if I missed one, I did try to make it up with an Insanity workout!

I runfess that for the first time EVER, I somehow let all of my running clothes get dirty.  This baffles me, because I have a ton, and we do laundry every day.  I have no idea how it happened.  I went to get dressed one day and there was nothing on my shelf!

I runfess that when we went shopping this week the only thing I could even find to buy was running clothes.  I am getting really bad about this!  We shopped all day long, and I couldn’t find hardly anything that I liked other than running clothes.  I tried hard to stay out of that section in each store, but I always found myself there.  I bought a bunch of tanks that can be worn for running or for normal wear.  So I guess that is a step in the right direction.  My running clothes (and shoes) are taking over my closet!

I runfess that I don’t think I have eaten a single banana this entire month.  I don’t really know why because they are so helpful with my running.  I guess maybe because I’ve been so obsessed with pineapples lately.  I keep buying them, and they just keep going bad.  Oops!

I runfess that I did not meet one training goal that I had for myself this month.  My goal was to run our local race course and get faster on it.  It is the hardest course with the most hills that I have ever run and I hate it!  However, in my defense, (or my excuse) I have been working through stomach issues so just getting my runs in has been an accomplishment each day.  I will go soon and start training on that course.  I may try next week so I can be somewhat ready for the 4th of July race (if I decide to do it).   I’m still on the fence about this race.  When I race, I want it be one that I enjoy.  It’s not that it’s a challenge for me, it’s just that it is completely unbearable!  The 5k course is a loop and you have to go around it twice.  It is full of very steep hills, and I have never been able to break 30 minutes on this course, and it never takes me longer than 28-29  minutes to run a 5K.  The 10k course is just as hard.  The entire course is uphill, and at one point it has hill that goes straight up for three quarters of a mile.  The slogan for this race is “One Hill of a Race.”  It’s very fitting.  I’ll talk more about this on Tuesday in my Tuesday’s on the run post.

Lol it is a problem! I like bananas too, but lately all I have been eating is pineapples.

You could freeze your overripe bananas for smoothies? I have been loving pineapple too!

I totally get how the run isn’t happening if it doesn’t happen before the heat. I’ve slipped into that hole. I am on the fence with my July 4th race as well. What is up with that?? Thanks for linking!

There are too many cute clothes…I definitely don’t need anymore, but that seems to be all I will find!

I realized I was eating bananas because they were healthy but I really wasn’t enjoying them!

I just spring cleaned my closet this week, yet still found myself in Old Navy buying $2 tanks. But they can be used for regular wear or fitness so there’s that. The struggle is real 🙂

Lol that’s what I did too! I love when they have sales like that. I’m going to tackle my closet this weekend….

I’m actually allergic to bananas so I don’t eat them ever 🙂 Have a great weekend!

Funny. almost my ENTIRE closet is running clothes. I have a problem. It’s OK, we can go to running clothes anonymous together. 🙂 Don’t worry, you’ll get your mojo back.

I have zero motivation to run a 5k now that it is summer. I do really good just to break an 11 minute mile pace with this heat.

It’s bad! This week it’s even been really hot by 7 am!

I hang up my running clothes to dry after my morning run. They are completely dripping with sweat and will mold if I throw them in the hamper. So, I runfess I wore them again the next day. They were dry and passed the sniff test. And then, I did it again the next day. Who am I?

Lol that’s hilarious!! But if they smell ok, why not? They’re just going to get dirty anyways!!

Oh gosh….I wrote a Runfession post several months ago and runfessed to wearing the same exercise bra more than once. Heck, if it’s dry…it’s good to go LOL (I also hang up the really wet items over my shower to dry before they get tossed in the clothes basket…so they’re just too convenient). And bananas? I developed a major aversion to bananas when I was pregnant with our son….I cannot eat a banana for the life of me (but I do love banana bread!).

That’s odd that you like banana bread but not bananas! I think that’s hilarious that you guys wear your clothes again. But I guess you’re right, if it’s dry, it’s good!

I am not a big fan of bananas, but I also eat them for running…

Oh boy, “one hill of a race’ doesn’t sound like a race I’d want to participate in LOL

I know! That slogan stinks! LOL I’ve done it three times and hated it every time!
