Weekend Food and Fitness

Hey Friends!  Happy Monday!  I can’t believe it’s already Monday.  This weekend felt like it flew by!  We had a relaxing weekend at home, and it was filled with food!  I feel like I need to go run a ton of miles this week to run off everything we ate this weekend.

Friday night Jeremy and I went out to dinner at Rib Crib.  I’m not a huge fan of barbeque, but when I’m in the mood for it I do like it.  Does that make sense?  LOL  It just wouldn’t usually be my first choice.  But, it sounded good Friday night, so that’s where we went.  Plus, Rib Crib has the best salads.  They are always fresh, and I can actually make a meal on their side salad.  Jeremy loves their burger that has a hot link on it, so that’s what he ordered.  I ordered a smokehouse sandwich.  You get to pick your meat and side, and it’s the perfect portion for a meal.  And, if you order the sandwich, it’s about $5 cheaper than ordering the actual meal.  So, I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich and a side salad.  I don’t eat the bread, I just pull the meat off.  There is a ton of meat, and Jeremy had to help me eat it.  It was juicy, flavorful, and not fatty at all.

After dinner we ran by Walmart to pick up a movie at the Redbox.  While I got the movie out, Jeremy tried to win Jake a toy.  He didn’t get one.  We rented Dirty Grandpa.  It was funny, but it was very vulgar.

Saturday morning we got up and hung around the house.  Jeremy was building some bird repellents.  We have birds that won’t quit making nests on our back porch.  We have put up rubber snakes and hung a fake owl, and they will just build their nests on top of the snakes.  They are making a huge mess!  We can knock the nests down, and they will be back in a few hours.  Jeremy wanted to set mice traps, and I told him no way!  So, I googled how to keep them away, and he decided to try one of the ideas.  He got a bunch of wood and cut it to fit in the rafters.  Then he put nails into all of them and laid them in the rafters.  It’s supposed to keep the birds from landing.

While he worked on that, I went for a run.  I made it 5 miles.  It’s not a long run, but it’s much better than what I’ve been doing.

After my run, I showered and then Bill and Sandra came to visit.  We took them to the taco shop for dinner.  I ordered fajitas to share with Jeremy.  We also shared a sopapilla for dessert.  I ate waaaaay too much!  I was so hungry since I didn’t eat anything after I ran and I ended up eating way too much!  After dinner, we watched the Women’s College World Series and sat around visiting.

Late Sunday morning we went to a local diner for breakfast.  I love breakfast, and it’s so easy.  I think it’s hard to mess that up!

After that we went back to the house to watch more softball.  I don’t like softball that much, so I worked on some blogging and did some online shopping browsing.  Around 5 I headed out for a run.  I made it a little over 3 miles and then had to call it quits.  It was so hot!! But I’m not complaining after all of this rain we’ve had the last few weeks.

When I got done, we worked in the garden some and then Jeremy decided he wanted to burn the brush pile.   I told him we should have bought some hot dogs and stuff for s’mores! 🙂

After dark we ordered some pizza from Dominos and watched softball.  I fell asleep before it was all over!
