Hi Friends! Happy Memorial Day! I hope you all had a fun and relaxing weekend. I had the best weekend, and we were blessed with extremely beautiful weather and no rain! We spent time visiting with family at Jeremy’s aunt and uncle’s farm and having fun.
Friday night it started storming, but it didn’t last very long. When it was over, we had two rainbows!
Once it stopped, we headed to town to eat. We went to the new taco place. We are really liking this place! We ordered a chicken quesadilla to share. I also got a pork carnitas taco and Jeremy ordered a steak taco and a ground beef taco. I was not a fan of the quesadilla. The chicken inside was good, but there was way too much cheese in it. The carnitas taco was good, and I would order it again.
Since I didn’t eat much, and was still hungry, we ordered one sopapilla to share but it came out like this.
After dinner, we went to Walmart to pick up a few things to take to the farm with us on Saturday. Then we went home and packed.
Saturday morning I got up and went to the funeral for my friend’s mom. When it was over, we headed to Jeremy’s aunt and uncle’s farm. Bill and Sandra were there. Cousin’s R, V, M, and C were also there, as well as cousin B and her son J from Washington. As soon as we got there, we joined the others and went fishing. I was on fire! I caught three huge bass as soon as we started! I never catch any fish, so I was super excited!
Jeremy caught a couple too. Not as big as mine! 😉
Then I caught the biggest fish I have ever caught!
The gnats and flies were so bad around the pond, so we didn’t stay too long. They kept biting us! After fishing, we went riding four wheelers. M and I rode together – it’s always a good time to talk! I love riding around the farm. Everywhere you look, you are surrounded by land. It’s so peaceful!
After spending the day outside, we all went in and cleaned up for dinner and the Thunder game. We had tacos and a ton of desserts for dinner. I made a taco salad and had some angel food cake and strawberries for dessert. I also tried a bite of my sopapilla cheesecake. I had to make sure it was good before anyone else ate it. 🙂
We hung out talking and watching the game until it was over, and then we went to bed.
Sunday morning we got up and went to church. When we got back, Jeremy’s dad was there for lunch. We had meatloaf! I love meatloaf and this is the only place I ever get to eat it. Jeremy doesn’t like it, so I never fix it. It was so good! When everyone was done with lunch, we went riding around on the four wheelers again.
Jeremy and V were looking at new places to set up deer stands so we rode all over the farm. We went by the food plot (for the deer) and picked some turnips. I have never seen them so big!
We were out riding for a long time. When we got back to the house, the guys were going to shoot guns, so M, R, and I took a little nap. B went to ride the four wheeler, so her dog Biscuit took a nap
with on me.
When we woke up and the guys came back, we went fishing again. I didn’t catch anything! (I may or may not have broken three lines by getting them stuck on something in the pond.) The fish weren’t biting, but the bugs were. Bug spray just made it worse!! My face, neck, and ears were covered with bites! M came to get me and we went back to the house and hung out with B.
We had ribs and pulled pork for dinner, and of course all the desserts! After dinner we played Wahoo and hung out until late.
Then we headed home before the storm hit!
Monday we slept in until around 10. Once we got up, I unpacked everything and did some laundry. Jeremy had to go wash his four wheeler. It got pretty dirty at the farm. Then my grandparents came over to visit and to see our garden. We already have okra coming up!
Monday was a really low key day. We spent the morning just doing things around the house and hanging out.
Then, my best friend Jen called me to see if I needed some girl time! I was all about that! We went to get our toes done.
This weekend was so much fun! It was what I needed to break me out of my blah funk last week. I love spending time with friends and family and having fun and laughing!
Make sure you come back tomorrow to see which of my favorite Instagrammers is taking over the blog! She is one of the most inspirational women I have come across online! I look to her for daily motivation! Come back and see what she has to say.
