Hey Everyone! I have been MIA the last few days (unless you follow me on snapchat: runandlivehappy) because we have been out of town. I have done so much this last week, that I am going to have to break it up into a couple of posts. I also want to update you on my week 11 marathon training, even though there’s not much to report. Oops!
This week was crazy busy!! We were on the go all week! And I loved every minute of it! But, now I am ready for some serious amounts of sleep! Jeremy found out Sunday afternoon that he was doing the State Tournament. This is a huge honor! Only 16 referees in the state are selected! This meant that we were going to be gone Wednesday – Saturday. That didn’t leave me much time to get everything organized.
I started Sunday night making lists of what all I needed to do during the week and trying to schedule it all. Of course, running was my first priority! I had to look at each day’s miles and figure out what days I would have time to fit them in. But, I was only able to get in one. At least basketball is over now, so I can focus on training.
Monday was extremely busy. I didn’t get a break at all at work because I was trying to get everything lined out so I could be gone Thursday and Friday. As soon as I got off work, I headed to Maurice’s and Rue 21 to hunt for some new jeans and a couple of new shirts. I didn’t find anything! But, that was okay because I didn’t have much time to shop anyways. Jeremy picked me up as soon as I got home, and we headed over to my grandparent’s house. They needed some cracks fixed in their living room because they were having company Friday night. I helped watched Jeremy work.
When we were finished, we stopped by a friend’s house so Jeremy could borrow a jacket. They had a bunch of pizza left over from dinner and they sent it with us. It was really good!
I also had some fruit with my pizza!
After dinner I worked on some posts, until I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. It started raining, and listening to that put me right to sleep!
Tuesday was another busy day. I worked until 3:15, and we left town at 3:30 to head to Jeremy’s games. He was calling an All-Star game, so I went. The games were in another town, so I dropped Jeremy off at the gym and ran to the mall. I really wanted some new clothes. But, the mall was a bust and the only clothing stores it had in it were Rue 21 and Maurices and I had already shopped there! I went back to watch the games, and it was pretty entertaining. The boys just took turns dunking it on each end, and then the last minute of the game they all came out to play. It was fun to watch.
When we got home, I started laying out stuff to pack for the rest of the week. I stayed up late trying to get it all done.
Wednesday morning I got up at 6 so I could get my 7 miles in before work. I actually looked at my training plan wrong. I was supposed to run 8! I was so scatterbrained all week! I knew I wouldn’t have any other time this week to run, so I had to get it done.
I had a meeting at 9:30, and then a couple more after that. I was home by 2, and we headed to Jeremy’s cousin’s to stay the night. He had a meeting in Oklahoma City at 8 on Thursday morning, so staying with his cousins kept us from having to drive two hours that morning.
We made it to Norman and stopped at the mall.
I was still looking for some new tops. Maybe I was being too picky, but every store I went in had shirts that looked like they belonged in the kids section. Seriously, is clothing just getting smaller?? We walked through the mall but I didn’t find anything that I wanted.
We left there and went to our cousin’s house. We made it in time for dinner! We all loaded up and went to BJ’s, but it was a 45 minute wait, so we went to Louie’s instead. Jeremy ordered a burger and I ordered a sandwich. The portions were huge! We were planning on sharing, but a burger didn’t sound good. I filled up quick. I couldn’t even eat half of the sandwich!
Once we got back to their house, we sat around visiting. I had a snuggle buddy!
By the time we got in bed, I was exhausted! But, we were up really early to head to OKC for Jeremy’s meeting.
The meeting was at the OSSAA (association) about 30 minutes from where we were, but it took us almost 50 to get there because of traffic!
Unfortunately, when we got there our room wasn’t ready yet. So we went to Denny’s. If you don’t know it by now, I’ll tell you: I LOVE breakfast!! I started off with a French vanilla cappuccino. I usually don’t drink coffee or cappuccinos, but I forgot to pack some tea and I was having some serious caffeine withdrawals!
For my meal I had the Grand Slam. It came with scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, sausage links (Jeremy ate them), and blueberry pancakes. Blueberry pancakes are my absolute favorite breakfast food, and I never get to eat them. So I did and I enjoyed them!
After breakfast we headed to the first game of the day. It was a boy’s game, and it went really smoothly and was over quickly.
The gym was huge and was super nice!
We left when it was over to go back to the hotel and check in. Since we were staying at a Double Tree, we got a warm cookie when we checked in! It was delicious!
When this game was over, we stayed and watched until halftime of the next game. It was around 10 when we headed back to the hotel. We were both exhausted, and neither of us wanted to go sit down somewhere to eat. Jeremy had to get all of his stuff ready for the next day, so we decided to order a pizza so he could do that while we waited on it. That way we could go to bed as soon as we ate. We ordered from a place called Pizza Planet. The pizza was delivered to our room in about 20 mins! We ate it in bed and it was so good!
The next couple of days were so much fun, and I can’t wait to share it all with you! We had such a nice weekend getaway. I’ll tell you all about it on Tuesday!
