Hi Everyone! How was your weekend? Good, I hope! I had a weekend full of basketball! It is playoffs, so Jeremy has lots of games, and they are all over the state. But, we only have two more weeks and then it’s over. Even though we were at basketball games the majority of the weekend, I did find time to get in a long run, visit some friends, and do a Be Fit workout video. Here’s a recap of my busy weekend.
Saturday morning we slept in until 10. We both really needed the sleep. I got up and ate a Cliff bar and mixed some Be Fit Pre Workout. I sipped on it while I got ready to run and stretched a little. Around 11 I headed out. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! It was in the mid 70’s and sunny. But, the wind was blowing really hard, and the pollen count was really high. So, I had a hard time breathing. I struggled through four miles outside and finally had to give up and go in.
I finished up 6 more miles on the treadmill.
After my run, we headed to Jeremy’s games. They were at a school that was a little over 2 hours away.
We stopped to grab some lunch at Subway. We shared a Subway club with lettuce, spinach, and bell peppers.
Then we stopped at a car dealership on the way to look. We’re always looking! I really want a new SUV, but Jeremy really wants me to get a new truck. I guess I don’t care what I get. I only drive about 10 miles every day, so it really doesn’t make me any difference. Jeremy was looking trucks, and I was looking at these –
We finally made it to the gym about two and a half hours after we left home.
It was in the middle of nowhere, but it was a really nice new gym. For an hour, I was the only one in there. Then, this guy came in.
It made me laugh so hard! I guess there is at least one crazy fan at every game. I sat on the opposite side of the gym from him. It’s hard for me to hear people yell at Jeremy. I always wear headphones so I can tune them out. People don’t think about how refs and coaches have family too!
Since these are playoffs, the teams are pretty good. I actually watched these games instead of playing games or reading a book on my phone.
The games were over pretty late, and it was around 9:45 when we finally got on the road to head home. We were both really hungry, but we were driving through small towns and the only thing that we could find open was a McDonalds. I got some chicken nuggets with honey mustard sauce. I didn’t eat all of them, I shared. I don’t know if I was just really hungry, but they were really good!
We got home around midnight, and we went straight to bed! Sunday morning, we slept in again. Then we went to do our grocery shopping. If you read my post about my marathon training this past week, then you know that I need to eat better to help fuel my body for my runs. So, I planned out what I was going to eat all week before we went shopping.
When we got home, I started prepping my lunches and snacks for the first part of the week. I found these fire roasted peppers that I had to try.
That is one of my most favorite vegetables, and I will eat them with anything! So, I got those to throw in my salads for this week.
I made salads with spinach, grilled chicken, roasted peppers, steamed asparagus, and avocado.
I also got some frozen fruit and put it in bowls so I can grab a healthy snack anytime.
Then we went to visit our friends that just had the baby. We stayed over there for a couple of hours while I held her! She was so alert! I think I could hold her all day! When we got home, I did a Be Fit workout video. I really like these videos. They are not very long, so they are good if you don’t have a lot of time.
I tried to walk around as much as I could so I could get as many steps as I could on my Fitbit. I was doing a Weekend Warrior challenge with Holly from HoHo Runs, Tricia from MissSippi Piddlin, and Kristen from Run Away With Kristen K to see who could get the most steps in. I ended the weekend with 36,159 steps, and Holly and Tricia smoked me! This week we’re doing a work week challenge to see who can get the most steps during the week. I’m going to try hard to win! These challenges are fun, and they get you up and moving!
Sunday night we flipped through the channels and went to bed early. That was another thing I am trying to work on during my marathon training. I need more sleep. But, I did not sleep at all Sunday night. I kept having nightmares and waking up, and then it would take me a long time go to back to sleep. I don’t know if it’s from stress or what, but lately I have been having lots of nightmares. I usually don’t dream, or at least don’t remember my dreams. But, the past few weeks I have been having bad dreams almost every night. Hmm???
We had a very busy weekend, and we got to spend a lot of time together, which was nice. I really enjoyed the warm weather too. Hurry up summer!
What did you do this weekend?
