Hi! It’s been over a week since I did an update post, so I’m due. Since my last one, I have been feeling better and my life has been back to normal and really busy! There is so much to tell you, so, let’s catch up. It’s going to be long, you mi
ght want to get comfortable!
Last Monday I was still recovering. I went to work which made me a pretty tired. Once I got home, I took Jake for a quick walk. The wind was blowing really hard! After that I got busy on the computer. I’m a part of Kristy at Runaway Bridal’s Blog Hop this month. I had a lot of reading to do, and I really enjoyed it. I like reading about what other people do in their lives. I also like reading about other’s fitness journeys and finding good recipes! This blog hop is introducing me to a lot of interesting people! And, it’s a lot of fun!
Then I watched the Bachelor. This season is actually really good. The last couple of seasons have been full of crazies and drama. The majority of the people in this season seem very genuine and I’m addicted to it.
Tuesday I was supposed to run 3 miles. But, I still wasn’t 100 percent well so I just walked Jake again. Then I baked Jeremy his second birthday cake, cleaned out my closet, and bagged up some clothes to donate. The rest of them I am selling on Poshmark. You can read about all of that here.
Wednesday was Jeremy’s birthday celebration with my family. We went to eat at our town’s new Mexican restaurant.
Of course we had chips and salsa! Our favorite!
While eating the chips, I noticed there was a half-dressed man on the table. I was pretty surprised this was the decoration on the table, but it was funny.
For my dinner, I ordered chicken and steak fajitas to share with Jeremy. They were really busy, and there were 8 of us, so by the time the entrée came out I was full! The amount of food that came out was huge! We had a ton leftover. They were good, but they were a lot greasier than any fajitas I have ever had. So, I didn’t want to take any home.
My dad and my sister’s boyfriend tried the green hot sauce. My dad dumped it all over his taco. We tried to warn him. They tried to play it cool because I was taking their picture. But, both of their faces were turning red. My dad even started sweating! It was pretty funny!
After dinner, everyone came over to our house for cake, ice cream, and gifts. Jeremy got a really nice pullover from my grandparents and then gift cards to his favorite outdoor shop from my parents and sister. Then we had cake! It was German chocolate and everyone loved it!
When I got home Thursday, I immediately went for a run. I had to run 6 miles, and I needed to get it done before dark so I could take Jake for a walk afterwards. It was 65 degrees, so I got to wear shorts. I love warm weather!
Jeremy’s dad got home (he lives across the street) while I was running, and he ended up taking Jake for a walk. He was bringing him home just as I was getting finished running. Jake was wound up and ready to play. We went in and he drug out all his toys, and wanted the empty toilet paper roller. Jeremy has started saving these for him since he likes them so much – then I have to clean it up after he shreds it!
While he was playing with all of his toys, I made a shake with my BeFit protein powder, a banana, and soy milk. Then I foam rolled my legs and stretched for a long time.
For dinner I fixed some eggs and an English muffin.
Jeremy had games far away, and didn’t get home until 11. I thought I would be asleep by then, but I wasn’t. I had some BeFit Pre-workout before my run at 4:15, and it lasted for a LONG time. I had a really hard time going to sleep! So, when Jeremy got home I fixed him something to eat and then sat and talked to him for about an hour. At 2 am, I was still wide awake!
When I got up Friday morning, I fixed me some more BeFit pre-workout so I would have some energy for the day. As soon as I got off of work on Friday, I rushed home so I could run. I wanted to get in 3 miles before we left for Jeremy’s games.
I went with Jeremy to his basketball games Friday night.
They were pretty boring, so I read a new book. It’s called The Selection by Kiera Cass. It’s another dystopian society book, and it’s kind of like the Bachelor. It has three books in the series and I read all of them this weekend at ballgames. They were really good!
After Jeremy’s games Friday night, we ordered dinner from Dominos when we got home. It was late, but I was planning on running 13 miles on Saturday and I always have pasta before a long run or race. So, I ordered pasta with hamburger and pepperonis and Jeremy got a pizza. The pasta was really good, and there was so much of it. I could have had enough left over for lunch on Saturday, but Jeremy finished it off!
I woke up early Saturday morning. I was warm and comfy in bed and I did not want to get up, so I read for a little while. When I finally got up, I ate and got ready to go meet my dad to run. On my way, I stopped to tan. I know this is so bad for you and I don’t do it very much. But, I was so, so, so pale from being sick! I had just turned on the tanning bed and laid down and the whole thing started shaking. It was moving so bad, that it felt like the entire bed was tilting. My first thought was that it felt like an earthquake. But, then it kept going for several minutes, so I thought maybe it was something wrong with the bed. After a few minutes it stopped, and I forgot about it. When I got to my mom’s house, she was telling me that we had just had an earthquake. It was one of the biggest ones we have ever had! 5.1 magnitude! It’s just strange because we don’t have many earthquakes in Oklahoma, and if we do they are so small that you can’t feel them. I can only ever remember feeling one before, and this one was worse than that! So, that was pretty exciting!
My mom’s cat was not impressed that I was there.
My dad and I headed out on our run a little after noon. He had mapped out a new route for us, and it took us all over town. It was fun running new places! It was so windy, and I think that makes it harder to run, especially when you are running in to it! Once we hit 13 miles, we were still a couple of miles from home. I was done! My body wouldn’t have gone anymore if I tried! I started walking, and I told him to go on and then come back and pick me up. He ran a little ways ahead, and I tried a few times to catch up, but I was so tired. He finally called my mom to come get us. We walked until she got there, and we ended up going 14 miles total! It was a huge jump for me in mileage since I’ve been off for three weeks. I was so glad that I was able to do it!
After running, I headed home to get ready to go with Jeremy to his games. I didn’t have much time to stretch or roll, so I was sore. My thighs hurt so bad! I told him I looked like a drunk trying to climb up and down the bleachers! I’m sure people were laughing at me!
I was starving, so at halftime I went to the hospitality room to grab a water and a snack. These were the napkins they had in there! Really?!
Sunday morning we slept in – the longest I have slept-in in a really long time! Till noon! We both needed the sleep really bad! We did our usual Sunday grocery shopping, and then we raked leaves in the yard and flower bed. Since it was Valentine’s Day, we kept going back and forth about going out to eat or eating at home. We finally decided that we didn’t want to face the crowds and we would just have a quiet night at home.
Jeremy cooked me dinner! He never does this, so it was really sweet! He made tacos with fried potatoes. He even set the table!
I fixed him some brownies for dessert! We tried a different kind, and they were extremely rich!
Jeremy wanted a brownie fudge sundae.
After dinner we just relaxed and watched TV together. It was the perfect ending to a hectic weekend!
We got some Valentine’s from my grandparents and parents. My grandma got us the soap dispenser with the B on it. She also made us some oatmeal cookies and blondies (in the foil). My parents got us the Reeses. And, we got Jake a new toy!
It was a busy week! I will try this week to not let it go so long without updating you! I hope you had a great weekend, and have a good week!
Did you celebrate Valentine’s Day?
