This weekend was packed full of sleep! I was feeling a little better by Friday, but was still really tired. I hung out in my recliner and on the couch all day. I slept off and on throughout the day while I watched TV. I finally watched Grease Live and LOVED it!!
By Friday night, my appetite was coming back. I was really craving pizza for some reason. So, I texted Jeremy and when he was done with his games he brought home Dominos. It was delicious!! I may have eaten four pieces and I didn’t even care! I was just glad that I was able to eat something.
Saturday morning I slept in until 11. I was still so tired. I got up and showered and felt better, so we went to take the camper back to the woods. Jeremy did a good job adding in a window and taking out some storage to make the inside bigger. He also mounted a wall heater in there, so this will be my favorite place to hunt out of next year.
After dropping that off, we ran to Wal-mart to pick up a few things. We weren’t in there very long, but it wore me out. We headed home and I went straight to the couch! I rested for awhile and then I went outside with Jeremy for a little bit. He was raking leaves so I held the bag open for him to put them in. That made me tired too, so I went right back to the couch. Ugh! It is so frustrating not having any energy!
Later that night, we went to Santa Fe to eat dinner. We had $15 in Santa Fe bucks to use. We ordered chips and queso for an appetizer.
I wasn’t that hungry, so I didn’t eat much of that. I ordered a club sandwich and Jeremy ordered a cheeseburger. We were going to share, but I really was not hungry. So, I ate half of my sandwich and a bite of his burger.
Their Valentine’s decorations cracked me up! They had paper hearts taped to string and tied to the wire across the top of the bar. They had sparkly paper hearts on the front doors.
After dinner, we went home and I went straight to bed. I slept in on Sunday until about 10:30. When I woke up I felt so much better! Some friends invited us over for the Super Bowl, so when I woke up feeling okay, we decided we would go for at least a little while. They said they didn’t make anything sweet, so I baked some brownies to take.
I went to get ready, and I noticed the ridiculous bags I had under my eyes. I could not believe this considering the amount of sleep I have had over the last week! But, there they were – big and blue and puffy.
We headed to their house at 3 because the guys were going to play cards before the game. When we got there, I helped my friend finish up everything in the kitchen and then we played with her daughter. She was so excited that we came over. She wanted to show me her new movies, and her new clothes, and she wanted me to fix her hair.
Everyone started trickling in around 4, and kept on up until the game started. The guys watched the game out in the shop where they played cards and smoked a bunch of meat. The girls watched the game in the house. It was at least on the TV. Well, we actually did more talking and passing around a baby than we did watching the game. (Different baby from the one I visited last weekend.) The baby has colic, and I feel so bad for her parents. She cried most of the time. We all took turns trying to calm her down, and she would be okay for a little while, but then she would start crying again.
Once everyone got there, we ate! There was so much food! Everyone that came brought at least one dish, some brought more. The hosts smoked a ton of different meats. There was smoked sausage, smoked chicken legs and smoked brisket. He also smoked stuffed jalapenos and stuffed bell peppers. To go with the meat, we had Cajun crab cheese dip, regular cheese dip, meatballs, little smokies, baked chicken legs, stuffed mushrooms, taco soup, and chips and dips.
We also had a huge dessert spread! There was banana nut cake bars, brownies, and a huge assortment of cookies.
Jeremy and I shared a stuffed pepper. It had ground beef, rice, black beans, onions, and corn in it. I couldn’t even eat half of my half. I had a couple of the smoked stuffed jalapenos. Those are my favorite! No one makes them like our friend does, and I love it when he cooks them! I also tried a couple of pieces of the smoked sausage and meatball. By the time we ate, I wasn’t that hungry. We had been snacking on chips and guacamole while we waited for everyone to get there.
It was nice to get out of the house. And, I had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone! It just seems like we all stay so busy that we don’t get to see each other that often. At half time, a lot of people left. Most of them had kids that had to go to school on Monday. I was starting to get really tired, so we left during the third quarter.
As soon as we got home I went to bed to watch the end of the game. I really like Peyton Manning, and I’m glad he won. I thought it was really funny that he kept saying that he was going to drink a lot of Budweiser! I guess he deserves it!
I didn’t do much this weekend, but I needed the rest. I did have a lot of fun at the Super Bowl party, and I’m so glad that I felt well enough to go. This weekend was fun and I am feeling so much better after I got so much sleep.
What did you do for the Super Bowl?
