Unfortunately for this weekly wrap up I don’t have any running to report this week. I’m pretty bummed about it. I only got in one 3 mile run this week. Then I got sick and it’s still hanging on. It’s been a rough week. I’m so frustrated that I didn’t get to run. But, I’m planning on doing week 8 over again next week. For those of you that follow me, you already know this, but for everyone else – When I picked a training program, I allowed myself 3 extra weeks in case of sickness or injury. Now I’m glad I did that! I’m slowly feeling better, so I’m hoping that by Tuesday I can start back running.
Ok, enough about that, I’ve been whining about being sick and not running all week! You can read about my week here.
Since I can’t report any running to you, I’m going to fill you in on what I did do this weekend. It wasn’t a lot because I am still trying to get well. But here goes….
Saturday morning, I made a quick trip to Walmart to pick up a few groceries. I have eaten all of the yogurt and soup in my house, as that was the only thing that sounded good this week. The picture below sums up why I really dislike going there. MOVE PEOPLE!!
Those women seemed to have the same list I did, because this was what I ran into on four different aisles! I didn’t feel good and I had no patience for that!
After that, I went back home and took a nap. Then, Jeremy and I went to his basketball games. The girl’s game was not very good. Here’s how bad it was. It was the finals of a high school tournament, and the score at the end of the game was 25-20. That’s pretty sad when you can’t score more than 25 points in an entire game!
Luckily, Jeremy’s partner’s wife came so I had someone to keep me company. The boy’s game was a lot better. It was pretty intense and had a lot of action. But the best part is that they were over early and Jeremy took me to dinner.
I haven’t had any appetite all week, but it showed up Saturday night! We tried a brand new Mexican restaurant called Riviera Maya and it was pretty good. The food portions were huge, and the prices were reasonable.
We started with chips and salsa. My friend’s daughter was our waitress and she brought us some queso to try. The chips were hot and fresh, and the salsa was homemade. The queso had a good flavor, but it was too thick for me.
Jeremy tried this hot sauce, and all he could say was, “wow”! And then he drank his whole glass of water!
For my meal, I ordered a chicken fajita quesadilla. It was huge!! The tortilla was filled with seasoned grilled chicken, sautéed onions and peppers, and melted cheese. It came with rice, sour cream, and guacamole. I am very picky about guacamole, and this one was super fresh. It was good, but it had a little too much garlic in it. I didn’t even make a dent in that plate. But, Jeremy finished it off for me.
Overall we really liked the place. The only negative we had was that it was extremely unorganized. There was about seven girls working, and we felt like we had seven waitresses. There was constantly someone at our table to see if we needed anything. We did have exceptional service though! We will definitely go back soon.
After dinner, we went home and I went straight to sleep. I woke up around 8 this morning. I felt great! But, showering and drying my hair wore me out. I had to lay back down for a little bit. Then Jeremy and I went out to our land so he could take down some blinds and feeders. I sat in the truck so I wasn’t out in the wind.
I did get out to take a picture of this little guy that Jeremy found sleeping in the step to one of our blinds.
The weather was perfect today..perfect for running. 🙁
We spent about an hour at the land and then we went home and I took another nap. I never sleep this much.
Now I’m up and am getting ready to fix dinner. We are having eggs, bacon, biscuits, sausage, and gravy! Follow me on snapchat or Instagram to see all of the yummy food! (username: runandlivehappy)
After dinner I’m going back to bed and hopefully will be well when I wake up tomorrow!
What did you do this weekend?
