Christmas is such a special time of the year and I love seeing family and spending time with them. There is also so much food that only comes once a year. So I really enjoy that too! This year, we had four Christmases. So it was a little bit of a whirlwind, but I enjoyed every second of it. Since we did so much over Christmas, I am going to break it up in to a few posts, that way you aren’t still reading this post tomorrow!
You can read about our first Christmas here. It was the Saturday before Christmas and it was with all of our extended family.
This post is all about Christmas Eve at our house!
We always spend Christmas Eve with Jeremy’s dad and his Aunt S and Uncle B. Since they were all coming over, I got up early that morning to clean the house and start dinner. We have something different for Christmas Eve dinner every year. This year we were having roast, so I had to get the crock pots going. (Yes I meant to say pots, plural!) I always make beef roast, but Jeremy wanted to try a pork roast too. So, we had both. I cut up about 8 pounds of yellow potatoes and threw in some carrots, onions, and seasoning and was done! That was probably the easiest dinner I have ever made!
For dessert, I baked a pumpkin pie and pecan pie, and I made a cherry cream cheese pie. Plus, I had made some strawberry bread the day before.
Everyone came over around 6 to eat and Jeremy’s aunt helped me finish up dinner.
I set the table, and we were ready to eat!
There was so much food!! We had roast, potatoes, carrots, mac and cheese, salad, hot rolls, and gravy.
Jake hid out waiting for someone to drop something.
After dinner, we opened presents. Jake went first and torn into all of his.
He has been impatiently waiting to open his for a week now! He gets more excited about the wrapping paper than he does with what’s in it!
Then he helped everyone else open theirs.
We got Jeremy’s dad a big picture to hang behind his couch and some shirts and jackets with their company name and logo on them. He really liked them!
I got Jeremy a couple of Under Armour hoodies, a North Face t-shirt, a new compression shirt to wear when he referees, some binoculars, and some cologne.
Jeremy’s dad got me and his aunt this cute paint bucket full of Bath and Body Works products. It had soap, body wash, lotion, body cream, perfume, and a loofah in it.
We got Jeremy’s aunt and uncle Yeti cups. And they got me one too!
My favorite gift this year was this pink Yeti cup!! It’s exactly what I wanted! I can’t wait to take it to work and show it off!
Jeremy got me a camo backpack, so I can have my own when we go hunting. I think he was tired of having to carry all of my stuff! (That was kind of my plan all along!) He also got me a new camo jacket, a Yeti cup, and a gift certificate to have my car detailed. (Plus he bought my running shoes and insoles a couple of weeks ago.) When I opened my pink Yeti, I “re-gifted” him back the one he gave me, so now we both have one!
Then we gave Jake his big Christmas present. He got a huge bed or it could be a mini couch. It’s humongous and he loves it! He was so worn out from all the excitement, that he went right to sleep on it!
After we were finished opening presents, we had dessert. I ate a bunch of the cherry cream cheese pie. I haven’t had one of those in years. My grandma used to make them all the time.
Everyone stayed and visited for a while and then they packed up all the left-over food and gifts and went to my father-in-law’s house.
Christmas Eve was fun, and I love hosting it at my house!
Two Christmases down, two more to go!
