Marathon Training has Begun!

Yesterday was Day 1 of marathon training!   Don’t get too excited yet, it was just 3 miles.  But, I wore my new shoes and rocked it!

My shoes and insoles were heaven!  It was like running on air.  They were so comfortable and supportive, and I did not have any pain when I was running, or afterwards either.

The weather was perfect.  It was sunny and 55 degrees.  It was a beautiful fall day.

I have 3 miles to do today and 3 miles tomorrow.  Then, on Saturday I have 6 miles.  We’ll see how my leg and foot hold up for that.  I have not been able to run that amount of miles since July.  It will be a challenge, but I am ready for it! 

Yesterday I woke up refreshed!  I was so tired all day on Monday, but I slept really well Monday night.  We rented the movie Vacation, but I couldn’t even keep my eyes open.  I was disappointed because I fell asleep half way through it.  What I saw of it was really good and funny! 

I had blueberry yogurt for breakfast, and then a granola bar for a mid morning snack.  I didn’t have any lunch prepared, so instead of eating out I just ate a Bear Naked Energy Bar.  Then I had some turkey snack sticks for an afternoon snack. 

After my run, I took Jake for a walk.  He walked the neighbor’s fence, and the horse wanted to play with him.  It kept following him up and down the fence, and Jake wouldn’t pay much attention to it.

Every time the horse would get close, Jake would take off running from it.  I think he was playing his own game!

We walked for about 30 minutes and then I got cold because the sun was going down.  We came home and got all of our Christmas stuff out of the building, so I can put it all up today! 

Then, I completed day 1 of Monica at RunEatRepeat’s new December challenge.  I am really excited that she posted a new challenge for the month.  I really enjoyed the Pile on the Miles Challenge, and I think that this time of year everyone can use a little extra exercise!  Plus, it helps me stay motivated when I know exactly what I have to do because I stress out if I don’t complete it.  I already saved it on my phone, and will be doing this all month! 

After I finished that, I massaged my leg.  I have a love / hate relationship with that stick!  It is not pleasant!  It just hurts!  But, it helps alot, so I do it.

For dinner, I made some eggs and toast.  (My favorite dinner)  I used one whole egg and three egg whites and Sara Lee 45 calorie bread with low sugar grape jelly.  I also covered my eggs in Cholulua.  I really like that stuff!  And I eat on a styrofoam plate because I’m fancy!  Just kidding, it’s just easier and quicker to clean up.

After dinner I worked on our Christmas card and a calendar for my grandma.  I get her one every year with family pictures on it, and she loves it!  I went over my list of Christmas gifts last night, and I think I am close to being done shopping.  That is a first for me.  Usually I am rushing around the week before Christmas trying to find gifts.  But, so far this year I have ordered everything online, and it has been so easy!  I can’t wait for Christmas!
