Hi! Happy Monday!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything exciting? I had a pretty calm and relaxing weekend, and it was nice.
We had planned on sleeping in Saturday morning, but Jake didn’t want us to. He was up at 7! I let him out, and then tried to go back to bed, but around 8 he decided that he wanted to play with his toys, so I just got up. I tried to be quiet and let Jeremy sleep, but I guess I wasn’t because he woke up too. Since we were up early, we decided to be productive and get some stuff done. You know how I’ve been picking up pecans almost on a daily basis? Well we had them cracked and blowed and now we have to separate them. All 77 pounds of them!! 

  
So, we worked on that for awhile and then I went for a 3 mile walk. The weather was really nice and the sun was out!
After my walk, I got ready and we went to get all of our groceries for the week, and also for Thanksgiving. Then we ran home to put the groceries up and get ready to go hunting. Jeremy has had pictures of a big buck on his trail cam and it is at the feeder everyday around 3. So he decided we needed to get there around 2. This was the first time I have ever hunted entirely by myself. Usually if we don’t sit in a blind or stand together, I will sit in a ground blind, and Jeremy will sit in a tree stand which are all right beside one another. But, on Saturday Jeremy wanted me to sit on the complete opposite side of our land from him. We’ve started having pictures of different bucks on both sides so he wanted us to split up and watch both sides. I was a little nervous being all alone, but it was okay.

It was in the lower 60’s, and the wind was blowing 10+ miles an hour. (Deer don’t move much when it’s warm or really windy.). About an hour after I got there, I had a coyote come in. It came really close to me, and I had my bow ready to shoot, but I never could get a good shot. Then, close to dark I had 2 does and a baby come in. They are the same ones that always come in. I think they like me because I’m pretty sure they know I’m there and they let me take their picture and they don’t run off.

 After dark, Jeremy came and picked me up and we headed home.  A couple of our friends came over to watch the OU / Baylor game. They brought all kinds of food! It was like a pizza party! They brought 2 pizzas, cheese bread, 2 kinds of wings, and a cinnaboli from Mazzios. My friend is pregnant, and she said when she was ordering she just kept adding stuff that sounded good. :).

It was so much food for just us 4, they had plenty to take home! This was my cheat meal for the week. I ate 2 pieces of pepperoni and 3 hot wings. The first 2 weren’t spicy at all but the last one burned!!

We watched OU and Baylor. It was pretty obvious that the officials were making calls that benefited Baylor. I don’t think I have ever watched a game where it was that obvious. And, Baylor was playing really dirty! The stuff they were doing and getting away with was ridiculous! The commentators thought so too any kept showing replays of every cheap shot they took. Our friends left when the game was over and I went straight to bed. I was so tired I could hardly keep my eyes open.  
Sunday morning we woke up early again. It was freezing!! A cold front came through during the night. Jeremy got up and turned the heat on and then went to help his dad with some stuff. I got up and prepped my lunches for the week. I made seasoned ground turkey and steamed asparagus. I’ll post that recipe soon.

Then I went for a walk. I had to get it out my cold weather gear!

I absolutely hate being cold! But, I actually like running in the cold weather. My best time in a 5K was on a night when it was 28 degrees! I can breathe better in the cold weather than I can when its hot and humid. I really wanted to run yesterday, but my foot was still a little sore so I thought I would give it one more day. I plan on running this afternoon.  
After my walk, Jeremy and I went to pick up more pecans. There are millions of them! I wasn’t kidding when I said everyone is getting some for Christmas!

I like picking them up because it’s almost like a stress reliever. I can spend hours out there walking around with Jake picking them up. I just like being outside. But we didn’t spend too long out there because it was cold and Jake got in trouble! He’s started eating the pecans. He will it’s the whole thing and swallow it! He ate a couple last week before I could get them out of his mouth and I got really worried. I googled it (I know that’s like the worst thing to do) and it said that a small amount is not harmful to dogs, but if it’s moldy it can be deadly. So, yesterday when Jake took a bite of one and ran from so I couldn’t get it from him, I immediately took him back home!
The we got ready to go hunting, and had to get out all of our heavy warm clothes!

I sat by myself again last night. There was small chance of rain, but as so as Jeremy dropped me off it started pouring! I was in a blind so I didn’t get wet, but my feet were freezing!

It rained off and on the entire time we were there.  Jeremy saw a big buck, but it ran off before he shoot at it.  About 5:00, it started pouring and we were ready to get out and go home.  But, as soon as Jeremy said he was coming to get me, my friends came back.

And, they brought friends with them!  I had 10 does and 2 babies in front of me.  I watched for awhile so I could make sure I didn’t shoot a mom.  I got my bow ready, and aimed, and the deer moved, so I moved to the other window and couldn’t get my body situated to where I could shoot right.  I really tried, and thought I had my sight right on the deer, but when I released my arrow, I missed.  🙁  Oh well, I guess there’s always next time.  I was pretty mad disappointed though.  

By the time we got back to the truck, we were soaked and freezing!  We turned the heater on full blast! 

We went home and got dinner ready.  Jeremy cooked with me last night, and as I’ve said before, I love it when he wants to help me cook!  We had pork chops, scalloped potatoes, and crescent rolls.  I also made Jeremy some Velveeta shells and cheese.  I refuse to eat those, they are so nasty!  But, he loves them and asked me to make him some, so I did.

After dinner, we played with Jake.  He kept taking the kitchen towels and running from us.  He took one of them to bed with him, so I covered him up with it and he went to sleep.

Hello! How’s your week been? I hope it’s been awesome!

I want to report my pile on the miles week 2 progress to you. I did pretty good this week. I got my 30 minutes of walking/running in everyday except Monday! I ran Wednesday and had really bad pain in my foot and ankle. My leg didn’t hurt at all, it was in the arch of my foot and ankle. Wednesday night I couldn’t put any pressure on it. I stayed off of it most of the day Thursday and just went for an easy walk later in the afternoon. My foot was still a little sore yesterday, but I really needed a run. I fit in quick 2 1/2 mile run. Nothing hurt until I was done, and my foot hurt again. I’m thinking about calling the doctor again. 🙁 I’m happy that I’m getting my 30 minutes in everyday. We’ve had beautiful weather this week so I’ve gotten to be outside.

In other news, I promised earlier this week I would eat better/clean this week. To me that means no junk -high calorie, lots of carbs – basically just junk food. And, I can say that I made it all week and did not have any junk! And, I was really craving carbs this week. I really wanted a donut or a biscuit. But I didn’t give in. I don’t know why I crave those things sometimes?? I guess something is missing from my diet that makes me want them. 
You can read what I ate Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday here. Thursday morning I ate a Bear Naked Energy Bar. Then I had lunch with a friend. We ate Mexican so I ordered chicken fajitas and I just ate the chicken and veggies. Thursday night I had some apple cinnamon Cheerios. I did steal one of Jeremy’s tamales. It was 80 calories, so I figured one wouldn’t hurt.

Friday morning was a bowl of oatmeal with almond milk and lunch was a turkey sandwich. I made it with turkey, mustard, and Sara Lee 45 calorie bread and some baked lays.

I like reporting to you because it helps me to be accountable. I usually do pretty good about making healthy choices, but I have figured out that sometimes I am an emotional eater. When I get stressed or upset, I eat. I don’t think about it and I don’t care what I’m eating. I’m just eating for no reason, and then I feel worse! So, I’m really trying to work on that and also just keep healthy food in the house so I’m not tempted. 
Yesterday when I ran, I was feeling so good. It was a really fast run and I felt like I could’ve kept going for a lot longer. But, I was short on time, so I had to cut my run short.

I ran home and had 20 minutes to shower and get ready for a basketball game. From November until March this is my life. It’s usually 3 nights a week that I go to the games, and then the other 2 or 3, Jeremy goes by himself. I do get tired sometimes with late nights and early mornings, but I love it! I think the only people that understand this are official’s wives and coaches wives. So I guess it’s a good thing that most of my friends are one or the other!

In my rush to get ready I forgot to grab a granola bar. We were going to stop somewhere on the way but were running late so we couldn’t. I was starving during the games! The concession stand only had the normal junk food, so I just stuck with water till after the games.

I did feel bad for the little guys because they tried hard, but they had no chance. The white team had 8 guys that were at least 6 foot! This was the final score!

At least it was over fast!  It was about 9:30 when we got home and I was so hungry.  I didn’t want to eat a heavy meal and then go to bed, so I just had some Raisin Bran.

Today we’re planning on going hunting and maybe getting together with some friends later.

Friday Favorites

Hello Everyone!  Happy Friday the 13th!  

I liked the Friday Favorites post that I did a couple weeks ago, and I thought that I might start doing that more often.  So, today I am sharing with you some of my favorite random things from this week. 

First up, is this dog in a basket at Walmart.  I thought this was hilarious!  It was an old man and lady, and I watched the woman wipe the basket out with a sanitized wipe and then lay a blanket in there before she set the dog in it.  The dog just sat there while they shopped.  (I followed them around, like a creeper, trying to get a good picture, but this was all I could get.)  I guess if I could, I would take Jake with me.  He would probably really like riding in the basket! 

Friday Favorites

 Next is the Veteran’s Day ceremony.  I was extremely proud to stand next to my papa while he was being honored.

Spending time with my best friend!  We have such busy lives that we rarely get to see each other.  So, I love the times we get to hang out and catch up!  No matter how much time passes, we always pick up right where we left off.  I guess that’s the great thing about having true friends, they are just as happy to see you as you are them!

The weather has been absolutely beautiful this week!  It has been in the 60’s and sunny.  Jake has loved his long walks! Both of us just want to be outside!

I loved these Bai5 waters that I tried this week.  The flavor is so strong, and sometimes I like something other plain water.  Another bonus is that they are packed full of antioxidants!

I’m Losing My Patience 

Hi everyone! How’s your week going so far? Mine has already been pretty busy!  

I am awful though! I did not complete my Pile on the Miles challenge on Monday.  I really planned on a run, but I literally had no time!  I left my house at 7:15 am. I came home at 4:15 and left again at 4:30 and didn’t get home until 10:45 pm. But, my Fitbit said I had over 13,000 steps for the day! So I guess I got some walking in!

So what was I doing all day? Well I went to work, and then when I tried to get home at 3:30, they had my road completely shut down. I was trying to come home from the south, and they had one lane dug completely up, and the other lane blocked with a bulldozer.  

  I sat for several minutes and they wouldn’t move the bulldozer, so I turned around and went all the way around the detour to come in from the north. I was so annoyed because I could see my house! 

When I got to the other side, they had the road completely blocked off with orange cones. 

 I followed a truck around the cones, but once we were past them, there were three graters going up and down the road. The truck in front of me drove down in a ditch and across two yards to get to her house. I was too far from mine, and couldn’t do that in my car. So, I turned around and went all the way back around the detour and called Jeremy. He came down on the 4 wheeler and had them let me in!    

So, I spent 45 minutes trying to get to my house. I guess I shouldn’t complain because they are at least out there working on it.    

 But, I am seriously losing my patience with this road work. It wasn’t broken, so why are they “fixing”it?

  
I had planned on being home by 3:30 and fitting in a short run before we left to go to the basketball game that Jeremy was refereeing.  But, the road construction really messed up that plan! 

We left at 4:30 to go to the games.  The girls game was pretty boring.  Girls basketball in our area has gotten really bad! It was 7 to 9 at half time! And, it took forever because all they do is foul! The boys game was a little more exciting. They got pretty rough, and it was a one point game almost the whole game.

 To be honest, I wasn’t that into either of the games. I was watching the cheerleaders. They were bad, and I mean really bad! One of them looked like she was ready to punch someone the whole time she was cheering. I was cracking up at her. I wanted to take her picture so I could show you, but I didn’t want anyone to see me taking it. She looked like she was so mad, she never smiled. Then there was another, the captain I’m assuming, and she kept counting off cheers – 5, 6, 7, 8. If the other girls didn’t cheer the exact way she wanted them too, she would stop them in the middle of it, tell all of them they’re doing it wrong, and make them start all over! It was quite a show!   

Once we got home, I was so tired and it was so late, so I ate some Cheerios and went straight to bed!   

I promised (you and myself) that I would eat better this week. So far, I have! Monday morning I had Dannon Strawberry Cheesecake yogurt.   

  Then I had a couple of turkey snack sticks for a mid morning snack. 

   For lunch, I tried a new chopped salad kit that I found at Walmart. It was really good!  

    
On the way to the basketball game I ate a package of honey roasted peanuts, and I tried a Bai5 coconut water.    
 I liked it! Then I had apple cinnamon cheerios for dinner and got to bed around midnight! 

Tuesday morning, the alarm went off way too early! I did not want to get up and I hit snooze a couple of times, which I never do. When I got up, my body felt really achy, especially in my back. I tried to stretch, but that didn’t really help. I thought maybe I needed to drink more water.   

Once I got up, I had my green tea to wake me up. I am still soda-free! It’s been since the first of August and I am happy to say that I have not even had a single drink of a pop since then. I feel so much better! Then I ate a granola bar for breakfast.     

  Lunch was the Dole chopped salad again.    
 I really like this salad. It has bacon, sunflower seeds, kale, carrots, cabbage, green onions, and romaine lettuce.     
 It also comes with a sweet onion and citrus dressing.  

  I really like the dressing; it reminds me of the sweet onion dressing at Subway.   

  
And yes, I’m eating in the car because we had to go put air in my brand new tires. The road construction is tearing up my car! I even lost a cap off my wheel. We had to order another one for $70!! I never go over 10 miles an hour on my road!!

  
After lunch, I fit in a quick walk. I was fighting a headache and nausea all afternoon.  I was starting to think that I might be getting sick. Bummer! 

I sat down for a little while, then I got ready for another basketball game. I was really wanting to stay home, but my best friend was going to be there and I haven’t seen her in a couple of weeks.  So I figured I could hopefully tough it out. 

On the way, I tried another Bai5 water. It is peach flavor.  It was a good too!  

 

On the way to the game, we saw something really random.  Or at least not something that you see everyday.  There were three helicopters flying in a line above us.  I could only get 2 in the picture because they were spaced too far apart.

We showed up at the game and the school had accidentally double booked referees. So, Jeremy decided to just watch instead of officiate it.  We stayed for all of the girls game and half of the boys game so I could visit with my friend!

When we got home, I went straight to the couch to lay down.  I couldn’t figure out if I was sick or hungry, or sick because I was hungry.  My stomach would growl, and then I would have a wave of nausea.  So, I decided to try to eat something.  I fixed some toast and then I went to bed.   

 I woke up Wednesday morning feeling much better and super hungry!  I had some yogurt and green tea for breakfast.  Then, since it was Veteran’s Day, I went to a ceremony honoring veterans and my papa was honored.  I was so proud to stand next to him!  (It’s an awful pic of me, the photographer caught me off guard!)

He served in the US Army 61st Infantry Division and the Artillery Division.  He doesn’t usually want anyone to make a big deal about his service, but I asked him to go and I’m so glad he did!  

After that I had a sandwich from Subway for lunch, which I forgot to take a picture of.  I had a turkey sandwich with cheddar cheese, lettuce, spinach, bell peppers, and Subway vinaigrette.  It was really good!  

After lunch, I ran 2 miles.

I started out really good, but then my foot started hurting a little, so I quit hoping the pain would stop.  Then, I took Jake with me for a walk.

The weather was absolutely perfect, and I think it’s supposed to get really cold soon, so I want to be outside as much as possible!

Then I came home and iced my leg immediately.  But now, my foot is really hurting so bad that I can hardly walk on it!    🙁

Then, for dinner I had a Lean Cuisine Chicken Parmesan.  I know you’re singing “Chicken Parm you taste so good” in your mind right now.  Or at least I hope I’m not the only weirdo singing that.  Thanks Peyton Manning!  I like Lean Cuisine, but I always put it on a plate instead of eating it out of the container.  It makes me feel like I’m eating a fancy dinner instead of a frozen one.  Try it sometime, it really makes a difference!

Easy Pumpkin Pancakes

I have been craving pumpkin so bad!  I usually eat a ton of it during this time of year, but Friday was the first pumpkin anything that I have had.  I opened a can of pumpkin on Thursday night to make pumpkin overnight oats.  (You can see that scrumptious recipe here.)  Since I had so much pumpkin left over, I decided that I would make pumpkin pancakes for dinner Friday night.  I took the basic pancake recipe that I use, and added pumpkin to it.  I added the rest of the can of pumpkin that I had, it was about a cup and a half.  I was a little nervous at first because the batter was super thick.  But, the pancakes turned out delicious.  I even added chocolate chips to some of them.

For the batter, I used 2 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, ½ teaspoon salt, 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (you could use more depending on how much spice you like), 1 and ½ cup canned pumpkin, 1/3 cup light brown sugar, 1 large egg, 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 1 and ½ cups milk.  (I used vitamin D milk).

Turn on your griddle on to medium heat so it can be getting hot. 

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice.  Set aside.

In another large bowl, mix together pumpkin, brown sugar, egg, oil, and milk.  I used a whisk to really incorporate all of this.  Make sure you break up the pumpkin and you have a smooth mixture.

Then, make a well in the middle of your dry ingredients.  Pour the wet ingredients into it.  Whisk this together until it is completely combined.  The batter is very thick, and it gets hard to stir.  You can taste it now and see if you need to add any more spices.  I added more cinnamon to mine.

Next, spread butter on your griddle so your pancakes don’t stick.  I used a 1/2 cup measuring cup to dip the batter out onto the griddle.  It doesn’t spread the way that normal batter does, so I would have to spread it out with the measuring cup.

Cook until the edges look brown, and it starts to bubble, then flip.  I made sure to use my spatula to flatten the pancake a little so it would cook all the way through.  If you’re going to add chocolate chips, right before you flip your pancake, sprinkle some on.  The entire batch took me about 20 minutes to cook.

These pancakes were thick and fluffy and had a strong pumpkin flavor.  They were incredible!   I topped them with butter and syrup, but they were good enough to eat plain!   I think next time I will put some pecans on top.  I ate one plain and one with chocolate chips, and then I stored the rest in a Ziploc bag.  I have snacked on them the last few days.  I just warm one in the microwave and then eat it without butter or syrup.  You could also make a big batch and freeze them.

These pumpkin pancakes were absolutely amazing!  I will definitely be making these again soon.  I think they would be a great addition to Christmas breakfast!

It’s Time to Catch Up!

Happy Monday everyone! 

Fall is finally here and it’s about time since it’s November! The weather has cooled off a lot, and the leaves are finally changing.

I have several days to catch up on! I haven’t been very busy, but I have been extremely tired, exhausted, worn out –  all of the above! I just can’t get enough sleep.  Jeremy started refereeing this week, so he’s been coming in late. Even if I go to sleep before he comes in, I’m such a light sleeper that I wake up anyways, and then I have a hard time going back to sleep.  I have been going to bed around midnight and getting up between 5:30-5:45. I’ve been living on Herbalife lift offs all week. 

This past week, I did really well eating healthy all week long. I didn’t snack mindlessly, and I didn’t overeat.  I did have a very small piece of the German chocolate cake I made, but that was it.  But, this weekend, that all went out the door! And, I really don’t feel bad about it because my “cheat” meals (yes I mean more than 1) were so good that it was so worth it! I try to eat healthy most of the time, but sometimes, I just crave unhealthy foods, and I give in.  But before I tell you about those meals,  I want to tell you about some new to me things I tried this week.  

Thursday it rained all day.  It looked like a hurricane!

 I had to get my 30 minutes of walking in, so I walked up and down the halls at work for 30 minutes during my break.  I ran out of yogurt on Thursday, so I had to figure out something else to have for breakfast Friday. I decided to make some pumpkin overnight oats.

This was the first time I have ever made overnight oats, and they were delicious!! (I’m also embarrassed to say that this was the first pumpkin flavored anything that I have made this fall.)  These oats were so easy, I will definitely be making them again this week.

All I did was take all the ingredients, put them in a jar, and stir them together.  Boom!  You’re done!  I used 1/4 cup rolled oats, 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/4 cup canned pumpkin, 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, 2 packets of stevia, and 1 tablespoon chia seeds. (Next time, I will add a little more stevia) They were so quick and easy to make, and the flavor was amazing!

Friday afternoon, I got my hair trimmed. She cut off an inch! It really needed it.  And, I got my hair curled.  It never curls, so I was pretty pumped!

When I got home, I took Jake for a long walk. I wanted to go for a run too, but my leg was hurting pretty bad, so I decided to walk and do some blogilates instead.

He couldn’t see me, and he panicked!  Jake and I walked for over an hour, and finally had to come in because it was dark.

Jeremy had to referee, and I had planned on going with him, but I decided to stay home instead. I thought about taking a nap, but I always find other stuff to do.  I cleaned out my closet, and got all my fall/winter clothes ready. Then, I caught up on all my shows that were on the DVR, and I played with Jake. For dinner, since I had almost a whole can of pumpkin opened, I made pumpkin pancakes.  They were so good! I made some with chocolate chips, and some without.  I ate one of each! I’ll post the recipe soon.

Then I did finally fall asleep for about 45 minutes until Jeremy got home.  I got up so I could fix him something to eat. When he gets home late, it takes him a while to wind down before he can go to sleep.  So, we ended up staying up till 2 am! And I know that isn’t helping me to catch up on any sleep! 

Saturday morning, I woke up at 8. I was planning to run.  But, my leg and foot were hurting so bad that I could hardly put any pressure on it. So I took some ibuprofen and put an ice pack on it, and decided to take a rest day! We got ready and went to an estate auction near our house.  This was the biggest auction I have ever been too.  There was easily over 500 people there!

And they were selling everything, literally.

It was all  going for a lot, and we couldn’t figure out why.  They sold a chain saw for $675! They also sold some old rusty shovels for $50 each!  Jeremy wanted to buy this gun safe, but he knew you could buy this one brand new for $700.   The bidding started at $2300!

He also really wanted to buy a 4-wheeler for me.  But, they went for a TON!  We could buy a brand new one for what those sold for.

The auctioneer was from Colorado, and he was really funny.  He actually made the auction pretty entertaining.

Jeremy got to talking to a couple of the guys that were buying everything and found out that it was all their grandpa’s stuff.  They told him that they didn’t care how much money they had to spend, they were going to get all of it. I felt so bad for the family to have to watch everything being sold.  When they sold the house, all the family started crying. I just don’t understand, but I guess you never know someone’s situation.   I ended up sitting in the truck most of the time, so I could rest my throbbing leg! We stayed there longer than we had planned, so we had to rush around to get ready to go hunting.

As soon as we sat in the blind, I could not keep my eyes open! I fell asleep and slept the whole time we were there.  But, that was okay because all that came out was a mom and a baby. After dark, we headed home to get ready to go to dinner. We went to my favorite Mexican restaurant. I was starving by the time we got there, because all I had eaten all day was a granola bar.  So, here was cheat meal number 1! We used to eat at this place once a week, and I would eat until I was miserable.  But, we hadn’t been here in over a month, so I was really excited! Of course we started with chips and salsa.

We ordered queso fundido for an appetizer. It’s a giant plate of melted cheese! And it is heaven! I love it on corn tortillas, chips, or even by itself!

After that we ordered a dinner to share. Our dinner had two cheese enchiladas, one taco, and rice.  I ate most of one of the enchiladas, and I was full!

We rented Get Hard on the way home.  I love Will Farrell and think he is hilarious!  this movie Did not disappoint.  We laughed through the entire movie. I would highly recommend this movie if you want a good laugh.  Then we actually went to sleep somewhat early! 

Sunday morning, we slept in till 10. I needed that so much! When we got up, we took Jake for a walk. We walked for a little over an hour, and my leg didn’t hurt at all! Then we ate lunch, cheat meal number 2. I had a sliced brisket sandwich.  It came with three slices of brisket and fries. I only ate half of the bun and few fries, and it was really good!

After lunch we went hunting again. This time I stayed awake. When we were walking in, we walked up on a huge buck at the feeder! We hit the ground and stayed very still.  It watched us for a bit, and then went back to eating.  It ate for just a minute more and then walked back into the woods. When it left, we went in quickly and Jeremy got in the ladder stand and I got in the blind.  I had a doe walk right next to me.  I could have reached out and touched her she was so close! But, I just let her come in and eat cause I kept hoping that big buck would come back in for Jeremy.

We didn’t see anything else.  🙁  Oh well, it’s still fun to sit and watch, and I got most of this post written while I was watching.  

We came home, and I fixed dinner for us and my father in law.  I fixed eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, and gravy.

 Breakfast is my favorite meal.  I could eat it three times a day!  Since I had such a big lunch, I didn’t eat very much.  We had a ton left over, so Jeremy can have sausage biscuits for breakfast this week!

Pile on the Miles Week One Report


I did really well this week! I accomplished my daily goal every day except Saturday! My goal was to walk or run for at least 30 minutes each day.  Here’s a recap of what I did this week. 

Sunday – I set my timer for 30 minutes, and I walked.  I quit as soon as it went off!  I was tired and sore from the weekend, so I really didn’t want to walk, but I didn’t want to miss the first day of the challenge.  So, I did it! 

Monday – I walked Jake for about 45 minutes.  Then, we walked and picked up pecans. 

Tuesday – I ran three miles and then walked for an hour. 

Wednesday – I had planned on running another three miles, but my leg was really bothering me, so I just took Jake for a walk.  Jeremy went with us, and we walked for about 45 minutes. 
Thursday – it rained all day, so I literally walked up and down the halls at work for 30 minutes during my break. 

Friday – I walked with Jake for over an hour. 

Saturday – I was having really bad pain in my leg and foot, so I took a rest day. 

 

I started off the second week of the Pile on the Miles challenge with an hour walk today!  
This week I hope to run more than I walk.  But, that will depend on how my leg holds up. I will keep you posted on my leg and my progress during the pile on the miles challenge.

Birthday Party!!

Yesterday was Jake’s birthday!  He’s 6 years old!

You will probably think I’m silly, but we always have a party for him and he loves getting presents!  I love to spoil him and see him get so excited!  On Monday night, Jeremy and I took Jake to my father-in-law’s house so we could go shopping for his presents.  I always get him a ton of toys at Dollar Tree because he tears them up quickly.  I got him a bunch of stuffed balls and stuffed animals.  We also went to the pet store and Jeremy bought him a new bed for “his” bedroom.  (Jake thinks our guest room is his room.)  I wrapped all of his presents in tissue paper, so he could tear them open!

On Tuesday, Jeremy had to work late, so I baked him a cake (to have for Jake’s birthday party).  I love to bake, but I don’t do it very often, because we don’t need the sweets.  And it is just a temptation having it in the house.  We usually eat one or two pieces and then take the rest to Jeremy’s dad, because I have no self control around sweets!  But anyways, Jeremy has been wanting a German chocolate cake.  So, that’s what I made.

Jake got a bath yesterday, and while he was at the groomers we set up his new bed.  When he got home that afternoon, I took him for a walk.  Then, last night we had his party! He was so excited, and ripped into all of his presents.  He will rip a hole in one, and then go on to the next one.

Christmas Wish List

Hello!

I am so ready for the holidays.  Who’s with me?  I know I said like a month ago that I was going to start shopping early for Christmas gifts, but I haven’t.  I have at least been making a list of stuff that I want to get everyone.  So that counts, right? 

Christmas Wish List

While I was thinking of gifts for all my family, I also started thinking about things that I want.  My mom and grandma ask me every year at Christmas and my birthday what I want.  I never can tell them and I don’t know why.  I know there is all kinds of stuff that I want, and if I went shopping I could pick out tons of stuff.  But, I really don’t need anything, so I never really know what to tell them.  I usually just say gift cards to some of my favorite stores so I can go buy clothes.  But, I hate giving gift cards at Christmas.  And, they never like that answer.  So, I thought I would sit down and really think about it and put together a wish list so I will have an answer when they ask! 

But, before I get to my wish list I want to check in with you with my progress on the Pile on the Miles Challenge. 

We are now 4 days into the Pile on the Miles challenge.  Has anyone been doing this with me?

I am going to be updating all of you on my progress, so you can help keep me accountable.  So, here goes: 

Day 1 – I walked for 30 minutes exactly!  I was so tired from the weekend, and my leg was a little sore from the race.  So, as soon as my timer hit 30 minutes, I was done!  But, I did it, and I’m glad I did.

Day 2 – My leg was still hurting some, so I took another day off from running and just walked.  Jeremy went with me, and we walked for 45 minutes.  Then, we took Jake so he could walk while we picked up pecans.  That was about a 30 minute walk.

We actually lost Jake, and I panicked!  He has never run off before.  There were so many pecans, that we weren’t paying attention to him.  We kept calling him, and I ran back home thinking that’s where he went.  We finally found him.

Day 4 – I am planning on running 3 miles again today, and then taking Jake for a walk. 

Now that I have updated you on my walking/running this week, let’s get back to my Christmas wish list. 

11-4-15 Christmas Wish List

Boots – I really need new boots.  The tan ones are TOMS suede boots (they also have them in black *hint hint*), and the black ones are from Maurices. 

Victoria’s Secret Beauty Products –

     Eye gels – they are supposed to get rid of puffiness, and help to firm and tone around your eyes.  I could really use these!    

     Heavenly Perfume – This is my absolute favorite scent.  I  love the body spray and the perfume! 

     Lip Gloss – This is the best lip gloss that I have ever found!  I love the strawberry fizz.

Coat – I need a new coat, and I really like this North Face jacket with the green trim.

Garmin – I really just want a Garmin.  I have been wanting one for a while to run with. 

Running Shoes – I need some new running shoes.  I wear Brooks Ravenna 6.  I know this is the exact one that I have, but I love them!

Running Socks – I want to try the Bombas socks.  They are supposed to be really comfortable to run in, and they help prevent blisters.

Headband – I just really like this Nike headband.  (Probably because it says Run on it)

Skillet – I am in desperate need of a new skillet.  The nonstick coating has worn off of mine, and everything sticks to it! 

Yeti Rambler – I really want one (or 2) of these to keep my water cold all day long!  I like the pink one and also the pink camo one.

Camera – I really, really, really want a new camera! I have a little Nikon, and the quality of the pictures that it takes is awful!  I don’t even use it anymore.  I take all pictures with my phone, and I need a better camera than that.  I want one that has a good zoom.  I really want a Cannon. 

 That’s my wish list for Christmas. I know it’s kind of random, but most of it is stuff that I could really use.  So, feel free to add me to your Christmas list!  I love getting gifts!  😉

Now that I’ve made my wish list, I will get back to making my lists of gifts to buy, and soon I will go out and actually buy one!
