Pile on the Miles Week 2

Hello! How’s your week been? I hope it’s been awesome!

Pile on the Miles Week 2
I want to report my pile on the miles week 2 progress to you. I did pretty good this week. I got my 30 minutes of walking/running in everyday except Monday! I ran Wednesday and had really bad pain in my foot and ankle. My leg didn’t hurt at all, it was in the arch of my foot and ankle. Wednesday night I couldn’t put any pressure on it. I stayed off of it most of the day Thursday and just went for an easy walk later in the afternoon. My foot was still a little sore yesterday, but I really needed a run. I fit in quick 2 1/2 mile run. Nothing hurt until I was done, and my foot hurt again. I’m thinking about calling the doctor again. 🙁 I’m happy that I’m getting my 30 minutes in everyday. We’ve had beautiful weather this week so I’ve gotten to be outside.

In other news, I promised earlier this week I would eat better/clean this week. To me that means no junk -high calorie, lots of carbs – basically just junk food. And, I can say that I made it all week and did not have any junk! And, I was really craving carbs this week. I really wanted a donut or a biscuit. But I didn’t give in. I don’t know why I crave those things sometimes?? I guess something is missing from my diet that makes me want them.
You can read what I ate Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday here. Thursday morning I ate a Bear Naked Energy Bar. Then I had lunch with a friend. We ate Mexican so I ordered chicken fajitas and I just ate the chicken and veggies. Thursday night I had some apple cinnamon Cheerios. I did steal one of Jeremy’s tamales. It was 80 calories, so I figured one wouldn’t hurt.

Friday morning was a bowl of oatmeal with almond milk and lunch was a turkey sandwich. I made it with turkey, mustard, and Sara Lee 45 calorie bread and some baked lays.

I like reporting to you because it helps me to be accountable. I usually do pretty good about making healthy choices, but I have figured out that sometimes I am an emotional eater. When I get stressed or upset, I eat. I don’t think about it and I don’t care what I’m eating. I’m just eating for no reason, and then I feel worse! So, I’m really trying to work on that and also just keep healthy food in the house so I’m not tempted.
Yesterday when I ran, I was feeling so good. It was a really fast run and I felt like I could’ve kept going for a lot longer. But, I was short on time, so I had to cut my run short.

Pile on the Miles Week 2 (4)

I ran home and had 20 minutes to shower and get ready for a basketball game. From November until March this is my life. It’s usually 3 nights a week that I go to the games, and then the other 2 or 3, Jeremy goes by himself. I do get tired sometimes with late nights and early mornings, but I love it! I think the only people that understand this are official’s wives and coaches wives. So I guess it’s a good thing that most of my friends are one or the other!

Pile on the Miles Week 2 (6)

In my rush to get ready I forgot to grab a granola bar. We were going to stop somewhere on the way but were running late so we couldn’t. I was starving during the games! The concession stand only had the normal junk food, so I just stuck with water till after the games.

The boys game was comical to watch! It looked like an NBA team playing a junior high team.

Pile on the Miles Week 2 (5)

I did feel bad for the little guys because they tried hard, but they had no chance. The white team had 8 guys that were at least 6 foot! This was the final score!

Pile on the Miles Week 2 (9)

At least it was over fast!  It was about 9:30 when we got home and I was so hungry.  I didn’t want to eat a heavy meal and then go to bed, so I just had some Raisin Bran.

Today we’re planning on going hunting and maybe getting together with some friends later.

For this weekly update I’m linking up with Holly of HoHo Runs and Tricia of MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.  I’m also linking up with the other Weekly Wrap bloggers.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Hi, I’m a new reader. I’m currently healing a foot stress fracture (almost done!) and was wondering if you had some type of injury with your foot or leg? Also my sister lives in Tulsa and I usually visit this time of year and run Route 66, but sadly not this year because of stupid foot. Enjoy the hunting and your weekend!

Hi! Thanks for reading! I had an injury in my leg, they thought it was a stress fracture but by the time I had the MRI nothing showed up. It caused sharp pains from the arch of my foot up to my knee. I tried some orthotic insoles but that hurt my foot to much. The dr said the next step is to see a foot specialist. 🙁 I really wanted to run the Route 66 this year but can’t because of my foot too! Have a great weekend too!

ouch!!!! Your foot issue sounds a lot like the Plantar Fasciitis I had early in the summer. My heel hurt so bad, I couldn’t even stand on it. After a week, it was much better, but I was constantly massaging it, wearing inserts, and no barefoot walking. From what I hear, my case was actually mild compared to what others experience. Hope yours heals quickly!!

Thank you!! Yours sounds bad!!! My problem is being barefoot. I never wear shoes when I’m at home, but I’ve been working on that!

Tara we are just thrilled to have you join us and as Holly said this post is perfect! I hope you will make it a weekly habit with us. Gosh, I get that way too I sayI’m going to cut back on carbs and that is ALL I want for a few days anyway then it seems to go away. You are doing super though with your food choices. My eating clean tends to come in spurts lol. For a few days I’ll do really great then I fall off the wagon. All in balance right? What kind of hunting do you do? Again so glad you joined in Tara!

Thanks!! I really try to eat clean, but mine comes in spurts too…some are just longer than others lol! We hunt deer and sometimes turkey.

I enjoyed reading your post! Sorry that your foot continues to bother you. I hope you can get to the bottom of what’s causing it and recover soon. Great job on your clean eating. I try to follow the 80/20 rule although I sometimes go overboard on the weekends.

I usually go overboard on the weekends too! It’s so much easier when I eat at home, but on the weekends we always eat out!

Great job with getting 30 min of walking/running in each day! Sorry to hear about your foot! Hope you figure out what it is and it goes away.

Thanks! I’m really liking this challenge because it gets me out the door on days I don’t really want too. 🙂

This weekend will be yet more mad decluttering to make my house presentable for Thanksgiving — it’s coming along nicely, but it’s never done. A 5k on Saturday.

Good job on just having water at the game!

Thanks! I’m decluttering for Thanksgiving too. That seems to be a bigger job than getting the good ready!!

this is my first visit! I spend a good bit of the fall as a hunting widow, my husband is just a little crazy about hunting! Be careful with that foot pain, it is trying to tell you something!

I totally understand! I used to be a hunting widow too and I got tired of that lol! I started just watching and then I decided I wanted to hunt too. I like it! I’m trying to listen to my foot, it just gets frustrating that it won’t heal!! Hopefully it will soon! Thanks for visiting!

I hope your foot is okay. Injuries suck. I am totally with you on junk food cravings. I can do so well for a few days, then BAM. Today I raided the fun-size twix bars in our office (everyone brought in their leftover halloween candy). Ugh…

Halloween candy is the worst!! It’s everywhere for practically a whole month. And those fun sized ones are even worse cause I want to eat a ton of them!! Lol

  10. Amy

Wow – that sounds painful. I hope you figure out what’s causing the pain in your foot.
