Happy Wednesday! We are half-way through the week, and I am really excited about this weekend! I love Halloween! I love dressing up, and I love seeing all the kids in their costumes. I can’t wait to hand out candy. But, as thrilled as I am about all of that, I am even more excited about Saturday morning. I signed up yesterday for a 5K! I am so pumped! This will be my first race since April, and since getting injured. I’ll say it again – I’M SO EXCITED! I have been thinking about this for the last couple of weeks. I just started running again, and am still trying to adjust my form and landing to keep from hurting my leg. I also feel like I am a little out of shape since I have been off for so many months. But, I just kept thinking about how much I wanted to do it. So, I signed up! I am not going to worry about my time, I’m just going to go have fun and enjoy it. I am so happy to be running again, but I needed a little motivation to get back on track, and this will do just that. I am going to be running the Monster Dash. It is a Halloween themed race, and people wear ridiculous costumes, which makes it really entertaining! I really can’t wait!
Monday morning, I woke up at 3:15 am and could not go back to sleep. I laid there until 5:30 and got up. All day I kept thinking that I would start feeling tired, but I never did. I really had a lot of energy! The weather was back to being warm again, and I couldn’t wait to get outside. But, I had some things to take care of, and was on the phone most of the afternoon. For lunch, I fixed some of my new favorite salad.
And later, I laced up and headed out for a run. I got a phone call that I had to take in the middle of my run, so I had to cut it short.
But, I did end up taking Jake for a walk before dark.
Jeremy was working late, so I had some Apple Cinnamon Cheerios for dinner. While I ate, I watched 27 dresses with Katherine Heigel. She is great!
Around 10, I took a Benadryl (I still have a few hives left, and my face has been very puffy) and it put me to sleep. I really hate taking any kind of medicine, especially things that make me sleep. But, once I went to sleep, I really slept good! That was probably a mixture of the Benadryl and only getting a few hours of sleep Sunday night.
Yesterday morning, I did not want to get up. I felt like I could have slept all day. I had some green tea when I got up but the caffeine wasn’t enough. So, I had a Herbalife Lift-off with my salad at lunch.
Those things really work! Since I signed up for that race, I wanted to see how my time would compare to what I was doing before I got hurt. Before I was hurt, I was consistently running 3.1 miles in right around 27 minutes. Yesterday, I didn’t push myself, and I did take some walk breaks any time I felt a pain in my leg. I ran 3.1 in 30:02. I am really happy with that time!
After my run, I took Jake for a really long walk. We walked and picked up pecans for an hour and 45 minutes. Jake got tired of me stopping to pick up pecans, so he would lie down until I was done.
He also found a huge stick that he drug around for a while.
Then I came home and turned on the World Series. I am really bummed that the Yankees didn’t make it. So, I will be cheering for the Royals. I could not believe that on the first night of the World Series, they were having technical difficulties with the broadcast!! The game kept going off for a few seconds and a screen would come up saying “we are experiencing technical difficulties”! But, way to go Royals for taking the first game in extra innings! It was a late night!
We watched the game and I fixed some breakfast for dinner. We had eggs, bacon, and toast. One of my eggs had
I love breakfast for dinner!
I hope you have a great rest of the week!
