Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! I know I did. We really didn’t do much, but that was much needed. We stayed in Friday night and watched TV and ate hot dogs. It was nice to not have anything to do. On Saturday, we slept in. Well, we tried to sleep in, but Jake wanted to get up at 7:00, and then again at 8:30. He went from side to side around the bed whining until we finally got up with him. We went grocery shopping and got it done for the week. I bought some more southwestern salad kits for lunch this week. I am hooked on this stuff! I also found some really good grapes to snack on.
After we finished grocery shopping, we went to ride the 4-wheeler. It was very cloudy and cold, but the sun was trying to peek out.
Our neighbor has 100 acres behind her house and no one uses it for anything. She gave us permission to ride the 4-wheeler around it. We rode around for a while and then we just walked and hiked.
We walked for a couple of hours and explored.
We found the remains of an old house. It was really cool that the wood was still standing there.
We also found a huge creek that runs through there. Jeremy knew it was there, but I had never seen it.
It was beautiful out there and so peaceful. I could have sat there and watched that water flowing all day. It was nice for us to get away from everything for a few hours.
I also found this really cool spider web with water droplets on it.
When we got back home, we got ready to go to the rodeo. Yeehaw!
It was an IPRA southern regional finals rodeo and Jeremy and his dad were a sponsor, so we had an all-access pass.
We got a free t-shirt and front row seats directly in front of the chutes. It was a really good rodeo and we had a lot of fun!
The clown was very entertaining and made us laugh a lot. He was probably the funniest one I have ever seen. He did a lot of different acts, and he changed clothes a bunch of times. He wore a lot of dresses! I really enjoy the bare back riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, and bull riding. I get pretty bored during all of the roping events though, and they had several.
The bull riding was really good. Almost all of the contestants rode the 8 seconds. I did see something that I have never seen before though. One of the bulls fell when he came out of the chute, and broke his leg. I have wondered all day what they will do with the bull. I hope they can fix it.
After the rodeo, we went to eat a late dinner. I lied last week when I said we wouldn’t be going back to Chili’s anytime soon. Jeremy wanted to go use our free dinner coupon, so we did. We got seated at the exact same table, and had the exact same waitress. She remembered us, so we actually had really good service. We ordered chips and salsa to start with.
I really wanted Mexican, so I ordered chicken fajitas again. Jeremy wanted ribs again, but he was worried about it being late and was afraid they wouldn’t be good. So, he ordered a burger instead. Our food came out really fast, and it was hot. The fajitas came out sizzling this time, and there was no mold on the cheese. That was a bonus! But, they were not very good. The guacamole was brown, and the peppers and onions weren’t cooked very much. I’m not a fan of their fajitas, remind me never to order them again at Chili’s.
Jeremy’s burger looked good, and it was hot. And, he actually got fries with his meal this time. But he said the burger was dry and he had to ask for some mayo to put on it. He wasn’t very impressed with it.
So, now I can say we probably won’t be back for a long time!
We got up Sunday morning and the sun was finally out after 3 days of rainy weather. The rain has washed away our road since they tore the asphalt off a month ago. Now it is full of holes and they haven’t even started to fix it! They have one job to fix the road. That’s it!
Seriously, you had one job!
We went to ride the 4 wheeler again on our neighbor’s land. It was nice out, but it was still chilly. The weather was hot, and then got really cold. There was no in between this year. We went back to the creek and walked along the top of the ravine overlooking it. We spent another couple of hours walking around.
After we came back, we had lunch. I ate some Apple Cinnamon Cheerios. They are so good!!
Jeremy’s aunt and uncle came to visit for the night. We all went to walk Jake.
We also picked up pecans. It’s like hunting Easter eggs! With all of us, we ended up with 2 buckets full! I decided that this is what everyone is getting for Christmas. Shopping done!
Later that evening, we went to eat dinner. We ate at a local café. We started with fried zucchini. They were monstrous and they were really good!
I also had a side salad.
For my entrée, I had grilled chicken with grilled onions on top. I got another side with my meal other than my salad, but I didn’t want it. So, I ordered some tator tots for Jeremy.
After that we went back to my father-in-law’s house to visit.
This weekend was so relaxing and we needed it so much! I can’t wait until next weekend for Halloween! I got my costume and am really excited about it!
Have a great week!
